- Day 1
Broome
You'll arrive in Broome and get settled at your base. The day is yours to wander around town at your own pace. The area has a strong pearling history, so you'll find pearl shops scattered throughout, plus the food scene is really diverse and Chinatown is full of color. Later in the evening, head to Cable Beach with your Travel Director to watch the sunset and have some bubbles to kick off your Western Australian trip.

- Day 2
Broome
You have a free day to check out Broome however you like. Browse through pearl boutiques, walk along Cable Beach which stretches for 22 kilometers, or spend time in Chinatown exploring the shops and restaurants. If you're up for it, optional activities include visiting a pearl farm to see how pearls are cultivated or taking a scenic flight over the landscape. Dinner with other travelers happens in the evening, overlooking Cable Beach.

Broome to Port Hedland
Head through the Pilbara region, which has really distinctive red earth with mineral streaks running through it. Stop at Port Hedland, which has one of the world's largest bulk export ports. The colors and landscapes here are what the Pilbara is known for, and you'll see why as you drive through.

Karijini National Park
Take a guided tour into Karijini National Park, which covers 630,000 hectares and is Western Australia's second-largest national park. You'll walk through deep gorges, see cascading waterfalls, and come across rugged escarpments and remote turquoise rock pools. The geology here is billions of years old with red layered cliffs, quiet gorges, tall gum trees, and distinctive termite mounds throughout.

- Day 5
Karijini to Karratha
Travel back toward the coast heading to Karratha, a town built around the mining and resource industry. On the way, stop at Ngajarli (Deep Gorge) to hike the trail and see petroglyphs while learning about the indigenous history. You'll also visit the Red Dog Statue to hear the story of this famous wandering dog from the region's past.

Karratha to Exmouth
You'll cover several hundred kilometers through the Pilbara to reach Exmouth on the World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Coast. Along the drive, think about the marine life you might see when you get into the water here. Your accommodation sits just meters from the waterline, so you'll have great views of the North West Cape from the edge of the ocean.

Ningaloo Reef
Spend a full day doing marine activities based on what appeals to you. Snorkel over Ningaloo Reef with an ethical operator if you want the chance to see whale sharks and possibly humpback whales. If you'd rather stay dry, book a sunset cruise instead. Another option is to walk along the sand looking for dolphins. The day is flexible based on what you're interested in.

Coral Bay to Carnarvon
Take a glass-bottom boat cruise through Coral Bay to see Ningaloo Reef without getting wet. An on-board naturalist helps point out turtles, colorful coral, and fish as you glide over the reef. After the cruise, travel to Carnarvon and visit the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum, which played a significant role in broadcasting the 1969 moon landing to the world.

- Day 9
Shark Bay
Explore Shark Bay, which is Australia's largest bay with more than 1,000 kilometers of beaches. Visit Hamelin Pool to see stromatolites, which are living fossils showing what life was like 3.5 billion years ago and the world's most abundant colony of them. Then head to Shell Beach where the white sand is made of billions of tiny shells piled up to 10 meters deep across 70 kilometers. End the day arriving at Monkey Mia.

Monkey Mia
Get up close with the famous dolphins at Monkey Mia. Every morning wild dolphins swim in close to shore where National Park Rangers explain their feeding habits and tell you about individual dolphins they've been studying. After the dolphins leave, have a leisurely breakfast overlooking the bay. The rest of your day is free to explore the area or just relax.

Monkey Mia to Geraldton
Travel to Kalbarri National Park, which has dramatic gorges, high coastal cliffs, and the Kalbarri Skywalk for viewing rare wildlife. If you're visiting during spring wildflower season, the countryside is covered in vibrant blooms. Later you'll reach Geraldton and visit the HMAS Sydney Memorial to pay respects to sailors lost off the coast during WWII. Spend the rest of the day exploring the seaside town on your own, maybe walking the foreshore or checking out the cathedral.

- Day 12
Geraldton to Perth
Two final wilderness experiences wrap up your trip. First, explore Nambung National Park's Pinnacles, a moonscape of limestone structures jutting up to 3.5 meters high, formed 30,000 years ago when an inland sea receded. Then head to nearby Yanchep National Park for a hands-on experience with an Indigenous guide where you'll taste native bush tucker, smell medicinal plants, and try playing the didgeridoo. Finish the evening in Perth for dinner with your traveling companions to swap contact details and talk about the adventure.
