Embarkation
You'll board the ship at 6 p.m. and get settled into your cabin. Before dinner, there's a welcome cocktail where you can meet the crew and other passengers.

Pompeii, Herculaneum, or Naples
This morning you have three options to choose from. There's Pompeii, the Roman city frozen in time by Mount Vesuvius, or Herculaneum with its preserved artifacts and carbonized furniture still intact. If you prefer Naples instead, you can walk through the old town, check out the royal palace, and see Via San Gregorio Armeno where craftsmen make nativity scenes, then visit the Cloister of Santa Chiara.

Sorrento and Amalfi Coast
You'll head to Sorrento in the morning, a charming town surrounded by orange and lemon groves with nice sea views. Stop at a local restaurant for an Italian aperitif, then travel along the famous Amalfi Coast road with its colorful villages and seaside resorts. After lunch, you'll cruise along the coast for the rest of the afternoon.

Palermo and Monreale
Spend the day in Palermo, Sicily's capital, walking through its historic center with magnificent palaces and gardens. You'll see the cathedral with its amber-colored stone exterior and the Church of St. Mary of the Admiral with its beautiful interior. Later, head to Monreale to see the 12th-century Norman cathedral that overlooks a valley of olive, orange, and almond trees.

Trapani and Erice
Start at Trapani on Sicily's western tip, wandering through the quaint streets and checking out the Ligny Tower, then walk along the ancient Mura di Tramontana fortifications. From there, head to Erice, a medieval village sitting 750 meters above sea level with cobblestone streets and views of the Egadi Islands and Tyrrhenian Sea. The afternoon brings more cruising.

Agrigento and Valley of the Temples
You'll explore Agrigento, one of Sicily's oldest cities, and walk through the Valley of the Temples with its impressive Greek ruins including temples, statues, and tombs from the 8th century BC. The Temple of Concordia here is one of the best-preserved Doric temples around. You'll also spend time in the city itself with its cobblestone streets, churches, and squares before cruising in the afternoon.

Valletta
The morning is free so you can explore Valletta on your own. Later, join the included excursion to see Malta's capital perched on a cliff with its remarkable architecture built by the Order of Knights of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. You'll visit Saint John's Co-Cathedral, then return to the ship for evening entertainment.
