- MeiWhelan· January 10th, 2020There are so many places in Japan off the beaten path that are worth visiting, and I think Eighty Days has a good understanding of the places people will love most. This tour took us to a lovely little town/city in Gifu where we stayed in luxurious accommodations, had scrumptious meals (the fluffy omelet rice was amazing!!!), and met some unforgettable people. Highly recommended!Show more
- CynthiaMarchesani· October 20th, 2019Excellent tour. Meeting the artisans was a wonderful experience and my favorite part of the tour. I really began to appreciate the history and craftsmanship involved. The food was fabulous - I would replace the Italian meal with another Japanese meal. I understand that some people might want a break from Japanese food at that point but I love Japanese cuisine. Breakfasts were especially good. I enjoyed being away from cities and seeing the beautiful countryside. My guide Ciara was terrific, very knowledgeable, easygoing, and fun to talk with. The pacing of the tour was good. I would have liked some time for shopping (for paper goods & knives), even though that wasn't a big motivation or focus for me. I highly recommend this tour and Eighty Days. I like that the company is focusing on bringing some economic stimulus to these areas of Japan, and focuses on uniquely Japanese culture and craft.Show more

Asked on December 10th, 2024We're interested in a tour of Japan from Dec. 26/27 and going to Jan. 5? We'd like to see as much of Japan as possible and are flexible on itinerary. It's myself, my wife and 16 year old son.
Eighty DaysOperator•Written December 2024Unfortunately we don't have a tour running in December. Hopefully you can join something next year.
