    Lyon

    You'll arrive in Lyon by 3:30 pm and get settled into your suite before the ship departs. Dinner's included this evening while the ship stays docked overnight in Lyon, so you can relax after your travels.

    Lyon

    Pick from three options to explore Lyon with your Adventure Host. You can walk the secret passageways learning about the silk trade, do a culinary tour sampling local food, or take a cooking class making Lyonnaise dishes. By evening the ship heads toward Tain l'Hermitage and Tournon.

    Several activities are available around Tournon and Tain-l'Hermitage this morning: a rail-bike ride with gorge views, a vineyard hike, a tour of the Valrhona Chocolate Factory, or a sightseeing trip through the medieval city. Later you'll watch a cooking demonstration as the ship sails to Viviers, then join a nighttime guided tour exploring ghost stories and local legends.

Afternoon brings a choice between a wine tasting in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, an e-bike ride, or exploring Avignon's medieval streets on your own. The ship sails to Arles this evening.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.
