Itinerary
- Day 1
Fez to Middle Atlas
Morning pickup from your Fez lodging, then you'll drive through the Sais plateau with its rolling farmland and agricultural fields. The route heads toward the Middle Atlas mountains, so you'll see the landscape change gradually as you climb. You'll stop in Imouzer where Dayet Aoua lake sits nestled between hills, and there's a chance to ride horses or donkeys around the area if that interests you. From there, head to Ifrane and its national park to walk through cedar forests that tower overhead, and with some luck you might spot Barbary apes in their natural habitat. Later you'll reach Azrou, a historic town worth wandering through before the drive back down to Fez by evening. Plan for a full day of travel and exploring, so bring water and wear comfortable shoes for the walking portions.
