Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Boumalne Dades
Your driver picks you up at the hotel to start the Moroccan adventure. You'll travel through the Tizi Ntichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains with stops for photos and to stretch your legs. The route takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, an earthen fortress that's served as a backdrop for Hollywood films. From there, you'll check out the Atlas Film Studios in Ouarzazate before heading to the Skoura oasis to see Kasbah Amridil. After driving through the Valley of the Roses, you'll arrive at your lodge beside the Dades Canyons for dinner and overnight.

Boumalne Dades to Merzouga
Following breakfast, you'll travel along the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs toward Tinghir, passing traditional mudbrick fortresses and Berber villages. The oasis in Tinghir has scenic streams worth exploring. Next comes the Todgha Gorges with towering 300-meter cliffs. You'll continue to Rissani, known for its role in the Alaouite dynasty's history and its caravan trading background. From there, head to Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga where you'll ride a camel caravan across the rolling sands at sunset. End the day at your desert camp with a traditional Moroccan feast and local nomad music under the stars.

Merzouga to Fes
Early breakfast at the desert camp comes first, then you'll drive through the Ziz Valley toward Fes, passing palm-studded landscapes around Errachidia and charming villages. Stop in Midelt for a leisurely lunch with High Atlas foothills as your backdrop. The drive continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains with cedar forests and Barbary monkeys. You'll pass through the Berber towns of Ifrane and Imouzzer before arriving in Fes. After settling into your riad in the Medina, you'll have dinner and spend the night.

Fes
A guided morning tour of Fes starts at the Royal Palace esplanade, then heads up to the 16th-century Borj Sud for panoramic city views. You'll explore the UNESCO-listed Medina with its narrow alleyways, vibrant bazaars, old madrassas, and hillside sanctuaries. Nejjarine Square and the Dar Batha Museum show Moroccan artistry. The rest of your day is free to explore at your own pace, wander hidden corners of the medina, or relax and take in the atmosphere of this historic city.

Fes to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, you'll travel across the fertile Saiss Plain to Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site with well-preserved Roman ruins spanning 42 hectares. You'll walk among ancient streets, mosaics, marble, and bronze sculptures showing Libyco-Berber, Mauritanian, Roman, Christian, and Arabo-Islamic history. From there, drive through the scenic Rif Mountains toward Chefchaouen with panoramic views and photo opportunities along the way. You'll arrive in the blue-painted town of Chefchaouen for dinner at your riad and overnight.

Chefchaouen
Start with breakfast at your riad, then explore the labyrinthine lanes of Chefchaouen with its blue and white painted houses and artisanal boutiques. You can snap photos against the azure doors and walls. Wander the winding alleyways of the Medina featuring Andalusian architecture and narrow cobalt streets with handicraft and leather goods markets. Around lunch, pause in Plaza Uta El Hammam to eat at a charming cafe in a blue alleyway and visit the historic Kasbah. As the afternoon sun gets lower, you'll depart for either Casablanca or Marrakech with memories of this town.
