Itinerary
- Day 1
Changsha to Zhangjiajie
Your hotel pickup happens at 7am for the journey to Zhangjiajie. You'll take either a 2.5-hour bullet train or a 5-hour car ride depending on train availability. Once you arrive in the afternoon, you have two options depending on weather conditions. If the Zhangjiajie Canyon Glass Bridge is open, that's where you'll head. If weather doesn't cooperate, Huanglong Cave becomes your alternative for the day.

- Day 2
Zhangjiajie National Park and Tianzi Mountain
After an hour's ride to Zhangjiajie National Park, you'll experience the famous super elevator up to Yuanjiajie top where you get views of Avatar mountain and the surrounding landscape. From there, you move to Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve to see the Sea of Clouds and take in the panoramic scenery. Later, you reach Shilihualang, also called 10-Mile-Gallery. There you can either take an electric train one direction or walk about 30 minutes the other way.

- Day 3
Tianmen Mountain to Fenghuang
You'll drive to Tianmen Mountain and walk the road leading to Gateway of Heaven with its glass walkway feature. The Tianmen Mountain Cableway takes you up to explore Tongtian Avenue, Tianmen Cave, Tianmen Temple, the glass walkway, Ghost-valley plank road, and Yunmeng Fairy Summit. Coming down uses the world's longest cableway at 7455 meters with 1518 meters of elevation change. Afterward, a 3-hour ride brings you to Fenghuang old town built along the Tuo River. The wooden houses and architecture look beautiful once evening lights come on.

- Day 4
Fenghuang to Changsha
You'll spend the morning walking through Fenghuang old town. After having lunch, you'll board a 2-hour train back to Changsha or take a 5-hour car ride if train tickets aren't available. From there, you transfer to your Changsha hotel and your trip wraps up.
