Itinerary
- Day 1
Yogyakarta
You'll land at Yogyakarta airport on Java where your guide meets you for the hotel transfer. The rest of the day is yours to do what you like, whether that means walking around Jalan Malioboro checking out the shops and antique stores or just relaxing by the pool back at your hotel.

- Day 2
Yogyakarta
The city tour starts with the Kraton, the Sultan's Palace, and then moves to the ruins of Taman Sari moated castle. You'll see the old town and its traditional market, stop at a batik factory and silversmith's workshop since Yogyakarta is known throughout Asia for these crafts. In the afternoon, head to Prambanan temple complex, a Hindu sanctuary with detailed relief work showing scenes from the Ramayana. There's an optional evening Ramayana dance performance with dinner if you're interested.

Borobudur - Candirejo
Start at Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary, then visit the smaller temples Candi Mendut and Candi Pawon on the way. After that, you'll go to Candirejo village in lush greenery and rainforest. You can choose between a bicycle tour or carriage ride to see how locals live, watch manioc chips being made, learn about Javanese gamelan, and walk through vegetable gardens. A traditional Javanese lunch happens in the village before heading back to Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta to Mount Bromo
After an early breakfast, you'll catch a train for about 3 hours to Mojokerto with a lunch stop along the way. Then visit Candi Gunung Gangsir, an 11th-century Hindu temple built with red bricks. The drive takes around 2.5 hours through volcanic terrain and plantations as you head toward eastern Java, arriving at Mount Bromo in the late afternoon.

Mount Bromo to Bali
Around 4 a.m., an off-road vehicle takes you to Mount Penanjakan's panoramic platform to watch the sunrise. You'll see Mount Bromo, Mount Batok, the still-active Mount Nahameru, and the famous sea of sand in the volcanic crater. Back at the hotel by breakfast time to relax before transferring to the airport for a midday flight to Bali. Your guide drops you at your separately booked South Bali hotel, with the tour ending around 7:30 p.m.
