Lisbon
You'll arrive in Lisbon and head to your luxury hotel for three nights. This evening there's a welcome drink with your tour director and other guests to start things off.

- Day 2
Lisbon
This morning you'll take a guided tour of Lisbon starting in Belém, where you'll see the Jerónimos Monastery, try traditional Pasteis de Nata, and visit the Belém Tower and Padrão dos Descobrimentos. After that you'll head to Rossio Square. The afternoon is free so you can browse shops or ride Tram 28 to see more of the city.

Lisbon
You have a choice today between a coach trip to Sintra to explore the Palacio Nacional with its distinctive twin chimneys, or a hands-on Portuguese cooking class focusing on local ingredients and traditional techniques. Later in the evening you'll have dinner with your fellow guests at a local restaurant.

- Day 4
Lisbon to Porto
After breakfast you'll transfer to Porto and board your 5-star Scenic Space-Ship for a river cruise along the Douro. The ship will be your home for the next few days.

- Day 5
Porto to Pinhão
Your ship travels through the Douro Valley toward Pinhão, passing steep riverbanks with terraced vineyards. In the afternoon you'll dock in Pinhão and can visit the charming riverside train station with its hand-painted azulejo tiles. There's a workshop where you can try painting your own tiles.

Pinhão to Barca d'Alva
This morning you'll visit Provesende, a village on a plateau with great views of the surrounding landscape. You can walk through to see the church, the old bakery, watch traditional handicrafts being made, and visit the historic manor house Morgadio da Calçada for a tasting of bola.

Barca d'Alva to Pocinho
You can choose between two options. Either spend the full day in Salamanca, known for its golden sandstone buildings and historic university, visiting two cathedrals and sampling local food at the market. Or go to Freixo de Espada à Cinta to see the silk museum and learn about hand-processed silk, then visit a quinta estate for tastings before returning to the ship for lunch.

Pocinho to Régua
You'll wake in Pocinho, the historic terminus of the Douro Railway from 1887. Pick between visiting the Côa Valley Museum with its Paleolithic rock art and workshop, or exploring the traditional village of Freixo Numão and Casa Painova estate to see how sugared almonds are made. Later the ship cruises toward Régua, the largest riverside town in the Port wine region.

Régua to Porto
In Régua, you have three options. Take a coach to Lamego to visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies with its distinctive zigzagged staircase, kayak along the Pinhão River, or coach to Mateus Palace, a beautiful Baroque building reflected in an ornamental pond. By evening the ship returns to Porto for a classical concert at the 13th-century São Francisco Church.

Porto
You have three choices today. Take a guided tour of Porto including the Palacio da Bolsa and free time at the Bolhão Markets. Or head to Guimarães, the historic city where Portugal's first king ruled, to see the Ducal Palace and explore on your own. Alternatively, visit Quinta da Aveleda, a 150-year-old wine producer, for a tour and tasting in its gardens.
