Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Aguas Calientes
Your adventure kicks off with a hotel pickup in Cusco early in the morning, and then you'll board a scenic train heading toward kilometer 104. From there, you start trekking through the Inca Trail for around four hours, passing through Wiñay Wayna ruins along the way. The trail leads you up to Inti Punku, also called the Sun Gate, where you get your first real view of Machu Picchu spread out below. After taking in that moment, you continue down toward the citadel before making your way to Aguas Calientes for dinner and the night.

Machu Picchu
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide meets you around 5:40 a.m. for a 45-minute walk to the bus station. Once there, you'll ride up to Machu Picchu and get a guided two-hour tour hitting the main spots including the House of the Guardian, Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, and the Sacred Plaza, with chances to see the agricultural terraces and surrounding mountains. By afternoon, you take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, then catch the train back to Poroy and Cusco, finishing with a hotel transfer once you arrive.
