Itinerary
- Day 1
Johannesburg to Ohrigstad
You'll arrive at O.R. Tambo International Airport and connect with your German-speaking guide. The drive to Ohrigstad takes roughly 370 km through Mpumalanga, bringing you to this historic town founded by Voortrekkers back in 1845. After checking in at Hannah Game Lodge, you'll have a welcome dinner to kick things off.

- Day 2
Panorama Route
This morning heads out along the Panorama Route where you'll see the Blyde River Canyon and several key viewpoints. Three Rondavels comes first, then God's Window at over 700 meters offering views toward the Lowveld, Kruger, and Mozambique. Bourke's Luck Potholes shows off those intricate cylindrical rock formations, and Lisbon Falls (94 meters, Mpumalanga's tallest) rounds out the sightseeing. Back at the lodge for an afternoon game drive, followed by dinner.

Ohrigstad to Timbavati Safari Lodge
You'll drive about 125 km to Timbavati Safari Lodge. Upon arrival, join a guided bush walk hunting for the 'Little 5' - ant lion, elephant shrew, leopard tortoiseshell, buffalo weaver and rhino camelina. Local guides share information about plants, their medicinal uses, local history and traditional knowledge. The afternoon is free to relax before dinner at the lodge.

Kruger National Park Game Viewing
After breakfast, you head through Orpen Gate into Kruger National Park for vehicle-based game viewing. The park holds nearly 150 mammal species plus over 500 bird species and around 120 reptile types. You'll watch for the Big Five and other wildlife like cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, zebras and various antelope. Arriving at Skukuza Safari Lodge in the afternoon leaves your evening free until dinner.

Kruger National Park Full-Day Game Viewing
Game drives fill your day - morning and afternoon sessions in open safari vehicles through Kruger's diverse landscapes ranging from dense bush to savannah, woodlands and river systems. Different habitats attract different animals. You'll learn about the Lebombo Mountains to the east and key water sources like the Crocodile, Limpopo and Sabie Rivers. The park's conservation history gets covered too, from its 1898 start as Sabie Game Reserve through the 1926 rename to Kruger.

Kruger National Park to Eswatini
After breakfast, you'll travel roughly 280 km to the Kingdom of Eswatini, stopping at Ngwenya Glass Factory along the way. That afternoon brings an interactive cultural tour in a local village within Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary where you'll experience authentic Eswatini culture, the natural environment and local hospitality.

Eswatini to Hluhluwe
Following breakfast, visit a local market in Eswatini before driving back into South Africa toward Hluhluwe in KwaZulu Natal, about 320 km away. Hluhluwe serves as the entrance to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, one of Africa's oldest and most well-known game reserves. After arriving, you'll do a guided hike (roughly 1.5 hours) through the sand dune forest and reach your lodge in time for dinner.

Landmarks Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park - Day 8
Hluhluwe to St. Lucia
An early morning game drive in open safari vehicles (around 3 hours) takes you through Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. After breakfast, you'll continue about 70 km to the coastal town of St. Lucia, gateway to iSimangaliso Wetland Park - one of South Africa's largest protected areas. The afternoon brings a boat trip to see crocodiles and hippos in their natural state. The park includes wetlands, savannahs, coastal forests and pristine beaches with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, rhinos and bird species. Dinner follows at Lake Lodge.

St. Lucia to Zinkwazi
After breakfast, the drive to Zinkwazi on the Indian Ocean covers about 165 km. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy those pristine beaches - swimming, sunbathing and walks along the coast all work well here. Dinner happens at the hotel that evening.

Zinkwazi to Northern Drakensberg
You'll drive roughly 335 km to the northern Drakensberg mountains and arrive in time for lunch (your cost). The afternoon includes a leisurely hike on one of the many trails through this mountain range. The Drakensberg offers panoramic views of mountains and valleys with varied plant and animal life. Trails range from easy walks to challenging multi-day hikes. Dinner comes at the hotel.

Northern Drakensberg Hiking
Start with a hike before returning by lunchtime. The Drakensberg holds UNESCO World Heritage status for its natural beauty and cultural significance. That afternoon, you'll do your final hike on one of the local trails. Guides explain efforts to protect the biodiversity and cultural heritage here for future visitors. Your last dinner happens at the hotel.

Landmarks Drakensberg Mountains - Day 12
Golden Gate National Park to Johannesburg
An early departure takes you to Golden Gate National Park, roughly 490 km from Drakensberg. You'll visit the Basotho Cultural Village Museum with its replica traditional homestead, thatched huts, cattle shed and central gathering space. Knowledgeable guides walk you through various aspects of Basotho culture. After this cultural experience, you'll transfer to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for your onward journey, ending the tour.
