Itinerary
- Day 1
Buenos Aires to Montevideo
Your hotel pickup gets you to the ferry terminal where you'll cross the Rio de la Plata on the Buquebus to Uruguay. The water crossing gives nice views of Montevideo's distinctive hill as you approach. Once there, you'll walk through the old port's cobblestone streets before joining a guided half-day tour that covers Mercado del Puerto, Plaza de Constitucion with its cathedral and colonial buildings, the Solis theatre, Independence Square, and the Carrasco district.

- Day 2
Montevideo to Punta del Este
This half-day trip takes you south to Punta del Este with other travelers and an English-speaking guide. You'll drive through upscale neighborhoods and stop at La Barra to see its striking suspension bridge. The area has that mix of high-end resorts and natural coastline that draws an international crowd. After a few hours there, you'll head back to Montevideo by afternoon.

Montevideo to Estancia La Baguala
After breakfast, a transfer takes you about 17 km east to Estancia La Baguala, a renovated 1940s estate on the Rio de la Plata banks. The grounds have forests, gardens, and water views. You can spend the day however you prefer, whether that's relaxing by the pool, walking the nearby beaches, or trying cycling, horse riding, or hiking if those activities appeal to you.

Estancia La Baguala
You've got the full day at the estancia to settle into the quiet surroundings and landscape around you. There are optional activities available if you want them, or you can simply rest and take in the setting. If wine interests you, there's an optional experience at the exclusive Bouza winery where they explain their production methods, different vintages, and how they grow their grapes, followed by tasting and lunch.

Estancia La Baguala to Colonia del Sacramento to Buenos Aires
A transfer gets you to the bus station for an unguided public bus ride to Colonia del Sacramento, a colonial town with winding cobblestone streets and Rio de la Plata views. You'll walk through the historic alleyways, stopping at Plaza Mayor de 25 Mayo and Calle de los Suspiros (the Street of Sighs). After exploring, you'll head to the Buquebus terminal for your ferry back across to Buenos Aires, then transfer to your hotel.
