Itinerary
- Day 1
Keflavik to Reykjavik
You'll touch down at Keflavik Airport and grab your rental car from the pre-arranged booking. The drive to Reykjavik takes about an hour covering roughly 50 km, giving you time to adjust to the landscape. Once you reach your hotel, settle in and get ready for the next few days of exploration.

- Day 2
Reykjavik to Borgarfjördur
Head out toward Borgarfjördur's fjords with the mountain scenery starting right away. You'll turn into Hvalfjördur and make your way to Reykholt village. The main stops include Deildartunguhver, one of Europe's largest thermal springs, plus Hraunfossar waterfalls spreading across a 900 m wide lava field fed by Iceland's second largest glacier. You're staying two nights in this area, so there's time to really take it in.

Snaefellsnes National Park (also called Kleinisland) comes next, the place you've probably seen in films and on television. The coastlines are interesting with rugged cliffs and black beaches throughout, and glacier views frame much of what you'll see. From there you'll see the geyser (the one that made the whole hot spring category famous) and head to Gullfoss waterfall, which is particularly worth seeing during winter when the surrounding landscape gets dramatic. You'll spend one night in the Golden Circle region.
