- Day 1
Bled
Start your time in Bled by walking through the town and checking out the 19th-century villas scattered around this spa town in the foothills. Head up to Bled Castle, which sits 130 meters above the lake and gives you panoramic views of the whole area. Later, you'll take a traditional Pletna wooden boat out to the island where the 15th-century Church of Our Lady of the Lake is located, and you can ring the famous wishing bell while you're there.

Slovenia to Plitvice Lakes
Head out from Slovenia toward Croatia's Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 16 cascading lakes set among wooded mountains. The drive covers about 280 km and takes roughly 4 hours to reach the park area. You'll be staying for 2 nights here, so settle in and get familiar with the surroundings. Once you arrive, take some time to rest up after the drive and maybe grab an early dinner at your accommodation to prepare for exploring the lakes tomorrow.

Plitvice National Park
Spend your day at Plitvice National Park, covering roughly 30,000 hectares of forest and waterways. Follow the marked hiking trails through the landscape, moving at your own pace and taking in the natural scenery around you. The trails wind through different sections, so you'll see various viewpoints and water features throughout the day.

Biograd na Moru - Zadar
Drive over the Velebit Mountains and head to Biograd na Moru, a coastal town known as the 'white town by the sea'. Walk around the old settlement on the small peninsula and spend some time at the harbor promenade, where you can check out the waterfront restaurants. After exploring, continue on to Zadar where you'll be staying for two nights. It's about a two-hour drive from Biograd, so you should arrive with time to settle in.

- Day 5
Zadar
Explore Zadar's old town, which sits on a narrow peninsula and has roughly 3,000 years of history layered into it. Walk through Roman ruins and see the medieval city walls with their four gates. The converted citadel park is worth checking out, and don't skip the Sea Organ on the promenade, a wave-powered musical structure that's pretty unique. Spend some time wandering the streets and soaking in the history of the place.

Trogir
Drive south along the Dalmatian coastal road toward Sibenik, a medieval town near Krka National Park, then continue to Trogir. Walk through Trogir's UNESCO-listed old town, moving through the romantic alleyways and squares. By evening, find a restaurant along the waterfront where you can try local cuisine and wines while enjoying the town's atmosphere and decorated streets.

- Day 7
Dubrovnik
Head to Split, Croatia's second-largest city, and visit Diocletian's Palace, a massive ancient structure and UNESCO World Heritage Site that you can walk through and explore. Afterward, stroll along the Riva waterfront promenade where you'll get views out toward the islands of Brac and Hvar. Later in the day, drive south to Dubrovnik where you'll stay for two nights, arriving by evening to check into your accommodation.

- Day 8
Dubrovnik
Spend your time in Dubrovnik exploring the car-free old town, which functions like an open-air museum. The massive 16th-century city walls surround everything, and walking them gives you perspective on the whole layout. Walk the Stradun pedestrian zone with its beautiful paving, and wander through the streets to get a feel for the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The whole old town has that historical weight to it.

- Day 9
Krka National Park - Sibenik
Head back toward Split and then drive to Skradin, the official entrance to Krka National Park. Walk through the park's river landscapes with canyon-like gorges, fortress ruins, and scenic lakes. The main attraction is the waterfall system, about 3 kilometers from the village, where seven large waterfalls drop around 46 meters. You'll want to spend time there getting photos and taking in the scale of it. Later, drive to Sibenik and stay in the medieval old town for the night.

- Day 10
Opatija
Move on to Opatija on Kvarner Bay, an older spa town that's been popular since the 19th century. The sophisticated villas from the Habsburg era are still standing and worth seeing as you walk around. Stroll along the miles of well-tended promenade where subtropical vegetation grows, and visit the Walk of Fame that honors Croatian personalities. The climate is mild here, so it's pleasant to spend time outside exploring the town.

Opatija
