Itinerary
- Day 1
Yogyakarta
You'll arrive at Yogyakarta airport on Java where your tour guide will meet you for the transfer to your hotel. After settling in, the afternoon and evening are yours to do as you like. Walk through the busy Jalan Malioboro if you're feeling up for it and browse through the souvenir shops and antique stalls, or just relax by the hotel pool and get over your flight.

- Day 2
Yogyakarta
This morning starts with a city tour covering Yogyakarta's handicraft workshops and cultural sites. You'll visit the Sultan's Palace (Kraton) and check out the ruins of Taman Sari, the old moated castle, then walk through the old town with its traditional market, batik factory, and silversmith workshop. In the afternoon, head out to Prambanan temple complex to see the Hindu artistic reliefs. If you're interested, there's an optional Ramayana dance performance with dinner later in the evening.

Borobudur - Candirejo
Today you'll visit Borobudur, one of the largest Buddhist temples in the world, along with the smaller temples Candi Mendut and Candi Pawon nearby. After that, you'll travel to Candirejo village, which sits surrounded by rainforest. From there, take a bicycle tour or carriage ride to see local life, watch how manioc chips are made, learn about Javanese gamelan, and walk through vegetable gardens. A traditional Javanese lunch happens in the village before you head back to Yogyakarta.

- Day 4
Yogyakarta to Mount Bromo
After an early breakfast, you'll take about a 3-hour train ride from Yogyakarta to Mojokerto. Following lunch, you'll visit Candi Gunung Gangsir, an 11th-century Hindu temple made from red bricks that doesn't get many visitors. Then it's roughly a 2.5-hour drive through volcanic landscapes and plantation areas heading east toward Mount Bromo, arriving in the late afternoon.

Mount Bromo to Bali
Get up around 4 a.m. for an off-road vehicle ride to Mt. Penanjakan's viewpoint to catch the sunrise over the volcanic crater. You'll see the famous view of the sea of sand with Mount Batok and the active volcanoes Mount Bromo and Mount Nahameru. After returning to your hotel for a relaxed breakfast, you'll transfer to the airport for your midday flight to Bali. From there, head to your hotel in South Bali, where you'll arrive around 7:30 p.m.
