    Rio de Janeiro

Your Rio adventure kicks off this evening at the hotel where you'll meet your tour leader and other travelers. From there, you'll walk along Copacabana Beach and check out the iconic mosaic promenade before heading to dinner. The restaurant serves feijoada, Brazil's national dish, and you'll get your Carnival Kit with a T-shirt, mask, and glitter included. After eating, you can head back to rest or venture out into Rio's nightlife if you're not too tired.

    Rio de Janeiro

Today you'll experience Rio like a local, or 'Carioca' as people here call themselves. Your tour leader takes you by metro to Ipanema Beach, the place that inspired the famous Bossa Nova song 'The Girl from Ipanema.' Plan on spending the full day at the beach swimming and soaking up the sun. Locals often play soccer or volleyball there, so you might join in if you're interested. Later you'll head back to the hotel to clean up before an optional evening activity.

These Carnival Blocks feature live bands, dancing, and crowds of people celebrating everywhere. Put on that T-shirt and mask from Day 1 and get right into the festivities with everyone else. The evening is yours to do whatever you want, so you can keep celebrating or take a break if you need one.

  4. Day 4

If you're hungry for meat, there's an optional afternoon all-you-can-eat Rodizio BBQ experience available. Once evening comes around, you'll head to the Sambodromo for the world-famous Carnival Parade, which is definitely the highlight of the whole trip.

I had a great time in Peru. Our guide Zema was very clear in all the activities we had for the day, very knowledgeable and experiment. The hotels were nice with AC, heaters, clean bathrooms, and comfortable bed. On the long bus ride there was many stops on the way for bathroom break, site visits, and amazing views. There were minor problems which are not relevant for an overall experience, but with the price they were easily overlooked. Again, thanks for the wonderful experience and awesome guide

    Asked on March 8th, 2025

Which hotel will the tour participants be staying in? Which Sector will tour participants be sitting in inside the Sambadrome? What time will the tour leader depart the Sambadrome to take us go back to the hotel?

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten March 2025

At this stage, the departure is too far in advance for us to give you a confirmed hotel name. Hotels are subject to change, we do not provide inaccurate information beforehand. We suggest reaching out roughly 90 days prior for this information. The tour leader will be the one to advise customers on where to meet up after watching the parade.

  • S

    Asked on August 13th, 2024

Is there an option to add on additional nights stay at the end of the tour and have a return airport transfer on a different day?

Unfortunately, we can no longer assist with booking pre/post accommodation and transfers. We recommend Booking.com for accommodation and Welcome Pickups or Rome2Rio for transfers.
