Frankfurt
You'll be picked up at Frankfurt Airport and can catch a boat tour on the River Main if your arrival time works out. The MS Palladium runs at least 6 times daily, and the hour-long cruise gives you views of Frankfurt's skyline from the water along with some history about the city's main attractions.

Idstein
Take a train to Idstein in the Taunus region and spend the day exploring at your own pace. The 14th-century castle has Renaissance architecture and tower views, or you can wander the historic town center, check out Nassau Nature Park, or visit a local winery. You structure how you want to spend your time here.

Heidelberg
Travel by train to Heidelberg for the day and see the castle ruins with their Gothic and Renaissance mix, walk through the courtyard, and check out one of the world's largest wine barrels. After that, head through the medieval town center to see the Old Bridge, Karlstor, and the Church of the Holy Spirit, then wander narrow lanes with half-timbered houses. You can spend time on the Philosophers' Way or do some wine shopping before the train back to Frankfurt.

Frankfurt to Berlin
Transfer to Berlin by train this morning with your tickets already arranged. You'll need to get yourself to and from the stations using a cab or Berlin's tram and metro system. Once you arrive, head to your hotel and settle in.

Berlin
Start with a 2-hour walking tour led by local experts covering the Brandenburg Gate, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, and sections of the Berlin Wall while learning about 20th-century history. In the afternoon, visit Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp to see the surviving buildings, monuments, the Tower A entrance, and learn about prisoner life. Museum entry is free.

Berlin to Munich
Travel to Munich by train this morning and check into your hotel. Explore the Old Town on the west bank of the River Isar, the medieval heart of Bavaria's capital and the city's historic center since the 12th century. Walk around Marienplatz, the main square, and see the Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus with its famous Glockenspiel that performs several times daily with life-size figurines reenacting scenes from Munich's history.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Head out to Neuschwanstein Castle and the old-world town of Füssen surrounded by natural scenery. Explore the castle and the scenic viewpoints around it, then take a 2-hour train ride back through Bavarian countryside, learning about King Ludwig II's extravagant world. You manage your own schedule and how you explore.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen or Königssee
Choose between two options. Option 1 takes you to Garmisch-Partenkirchen to explore Bavarian lifestyle and visit Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak, with panoramic views of over 400 mountain peaks. Option 2 heads to Königssee in the Berchtesgaden Alps, surrounded by snow-capped mountains with views of Germany's highest waterfall at Röthbachfall and the St. Bartholoma chapel from 1134. A boat ride includes a musical performance. Transfers from Munich are included either way.
