Itinerary
- Day 1
Luxor to Aswan
Your guide picks you up from your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise early in the morning, then drives south for about 4 to 5 hours. Along the way, you'll pass through local villages with views of the River Nile stretching out on both sides. Once you reach Aswan, the day really gets going. First, you'll see the High Dam, then head out by motorboat to the Philae Temple of Isis, which sits on an island in the river. After that, you'll check out the Unfinished Obelisk at the granite quarries to get a sense of how ancient Egyptians worked stone. A scenic motorboat ride takes you to Nubian Village on Soheil Island, where you'll visit inside a local family home and learn how people live there. By early afternoon, you'll have lunch at a local restaurant, and then it's the drive back to Luxor, arriving by evening around 75°F/24°C.
