Zanzibar
You'll land at Zanzibar airport and head straight to your beachfront resort. After settling in, the afternoon is yours to explore the property. Grab a drink at the Jetty Bar, relax poolside, or take a swim in the Indian Ocean. If you're interested, you can book optional excursions to see more of the island, though your first day is really about getting comfortable and adjusted.

Zanzibar to Arusha
A morning flight gets you from Zanzibar to Arusha. Your driver-guide meets you at the airport and drives you to the lodge where you'll be staying. Once you arrive, settle in and spend the rest of the day preparing for your safari. This is a good time to rest up since the real adventures start tomorrow.

Arusha to Lake Natron
After breakfast, you'll drive toward Lake Natron with dramatic landscapes unfolding around you. The terrain shifts to lava desert, and you get to see the highly alkaline lake set within the Rift Valley. Check in at Africa Safari Lake Natron for the night. The raw geology and isolation of this place really make an impression.

Lake Natron to Lake Manyara
This morning you'll walk along the shore where millions of Lesser Flamingos gather at Lake Natron. The sight of so many pink birds moving through the water is something else. After lunch, you'll transfer to Africa Safari Lake Manyara and get settled in. The afternoon gives you a chance to relax before evening, with wildlife and lake views from your room.

Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro to South Serengeti
A game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area around Lake Ndutu puts you in territory where six species of big cats roam. If you're traveling between February and March, you might catch the calving season migration event. By afternoon you'll transfer to Africa Safari South Serengeti for your overnight stay, ready for the next day's drives.

Serengeti

Your driver knows where to find them. At Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma, your lodge sits near the Grumeti River, so wildlife viewing continues from your room and around the grounds during the evening.

Serengeti to Zanzibar
After breakfast your driver takes you to Seronera airstrip for a flight back to tropical Zanzibar. The transition from safari to beach happens quickly. Once you land, transfer to your resort and check in. Spend the next several days relaxing on the beach and swimming. Beach and water activities fill your schedule, with optional excursions available if you want to explore island culture and nature.

Zanzibar Departure
