The river cruise was carried out in French and did not accommodate us, the only English speaking couple on board, though they were aware of the fact. I had to tell them to also do public announcements in English, in case of emergency. They also failed to tell the excursion tour guide, resulting she has not prepared her material in English. She did her best, but we could feel that we missed out a lot of information. We were also in the blank during game event on board, because of the lack of English translation and the effort to include us, making us felt that the cruise was exclusively for French speaking people, and we were not made aware in advance. The food on board were bad. Breakfast was ok on pastry side (cannot be wrong with pastry in Europe, I guess), but other meals onboard were awful. Even on gala dinner, they presented a good looking menu, but the food that came out were not what were listed in the menu. The menu included canapes, which they substituted with just 1 serving of mini soup. Foie gras was substituted with simple pate which wasn't up to par, and the desert that supposed to use Grand Marnier, we could not taste the spirit. We could tell because Grand Marnier is our favourite at home. All in all, the food was awful. The daily cocktails, beer and cognac at the bar were disappointed too. The wines were good though, both the red and white selections. And the cabin was comfortable with a lot of storage capacity. The room was cleaned everyday to satisfaction.
