Itinerary
- Day 1
Calgary
You'll arrive in Calgary this afternoon. Your tour director will be on hand later to answer questions and help you get settled into your accommodations for the evening.
- Day 2
Calgary to Banff
After breakfast, you'll head into downtown Calgary to see Fort Calgary, Stampede Park, the Saddledome, and Canada Olympic Park. From there, the drive takes you west through the foothills toward Banff National Park. You'll get an orientation tour when you arrive, helping you get your bearings in this mountain landscape.

Banff
This day is yours to spend however you'd like in Banff. You can play golf, go horseback riding, walk some of the wilderness trails, wander through town, or spend time at the hot springs. The park is great for wildlife watching if you keep your eyes open for deer and bighorn sheep moving through their natural areas.

Banff to Jasper
You'll start at Lake Louise, where the reflection of the surrounding mountains and glaciers makes for great photos. After that, you'll cross three mountain passes with views of gorges, snow-capped peaks, and beautiful lakes. At the Columbia Icefield, you'll ride an Ice Explorer across ice that's 750 feet thick. If interested, there's an optional float trip down the Athabasca River in the late afternoon before continuing to Jasper for the night.

Jasper
There's an optional narrated cruise on Maligne Lake to Spirit Island if you want that experience, with Medicine Lake and Maligne Canyon visible on the way back. The rest of the afternoon and evening are free for hiking or checking out Jasper's local spots. Watch for grizzly bears, moose, elk, and wolves in Canada's largest national park if you venture out.

Jasper to Kamloops
You'll board the Rocky Mountaineer for a two-day rail journey from the Canadian Rockies toward the Pacific Coast. The train travels all daylight hours, so you'll see Mount Robson (the Canadian Rockies' highest peak) and follow the North Thompson River with the Monashee Mountains in view. You'll have free time in Kamloops this evening.

Kamloops to Vancouver
Back on the Rocky Mountaineer, you'll travel through ranchland along the Thompson River, then head through Fraser Canyon and past Hell's Gate with its powerful river conditions. You'll arrive in Vancouver in the evening and head to your hotel from the station.

Vancouver to Victoria
The morning brings sightseeing through Vancouver's Chinatown, Gastown, and Stanley Park. After that, you'll sail through the Gulf Islands with their Mediterranean-like feel. Once in Victoria, you'll see Butchart Gardens, Bastion Square, and Thunderbird Park, which has a nice collection of totem poles.

You'll leave Victoria early and head back to Vancouver by morning. The tour ends at Vancouver International Airport, so plan your flights for 1:30 pm or later to give yourself time for the drive and check-in.
