Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Luang Prabang
You'll land at Luang Prabang airport where someone from the hotel will meet you and drive you there. After you check in, the rest of the day is open so you can walk around, grab a bite, or just rest up after your flight.
- Day 2
Luang Prabang
A guide takes you through Luang Prabang's main sites, starting with Wat Visoun stupa and the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum. You'll also stop by the UXO Centre to learn about the region's history. In the afternoon, head to Khouang Si waterfall where the pools are perfect for swimming. After that, visit the Sun Bear Reserve, then wander through the Night Market as evening comes. Dinner happens at someone's home where you'll participate in a traditional Baci ceremony.

Luang Prabang
This day is yours to use however you want. If you want something organized, there are options: take a boat to Pak Ou Caves to see thousands of gilded Buddha statues, check out Ban Xangkhong village known for hand-woven silk and traditional paper making, or visit a local farm to learn how rice is grown using traditional methods.

Luang Prabang to Vientiane
After breakfast, head to the Morning Market with your guide to pick out ingredients for a cooking class in a small village outside the city. You'll learn to make Laap Laos, Orlam soup, and papaya salad. Later, monks at a local temple will receive your food and give you a blessing, and you can talk with them about Buddhism. Back in Luang Prabang, you'll have a light lunch of what you cooked. By early evening, you'll board a train for 2 hours to Vientiane and get settled at your hotel.

Vientiane
Start at the COPE centre to learn about Laos' war history and the programs helping civilians. Then go to Buddha Park with its hundreds of Buddhist and Hindu statues scattered around. The city tour covers Wat Sisaket, an old temple with thousands of small Buddha statues, and Wat Prakeo, the former royal temple. On the way to That Luang Stupa, you'll pass the Patuxay Monument, Vientiane's version of the Arc de Triomphe.

Vientiane to Pakse to Don Khong Island
You'll fly to Pakse and visit Wat Phou, one of Laos' oldest archaeological sites. Then take a small boat across the Mekong to Khong Island. From there, you can spend the rest of the day exploring on foot or by bike, checking out the villages and getting a feel for island life.

Don Khong Island to Pakse
This morning you'll boat around the 4000 Islands, starting with Khone Island to see old French colonial buildings and early railway remains. You'll go by Liphi Waterfalls, which marks the border with Cambodia, and Khone Phasoi Waterfall. Along the way, watch fishermen working the Mekong River rapids with their traditional traps. After the boat trip, visit Khone Phapeng, the region's largest waterfall, before heading back to Pakse.
