Itinerary
- Day 1
Muscat
You'll land in Muscat and check into your hotel. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours to handle however you'd like. Some people prefer to rest up from traveling, but if you're feeling up for it, head out to wander around the city on your own. Muttrah Souq is worth checking out if you have the energy, where you can browse local goods and get a feel for how the city operates.

Landmarks/POIs Muttrah Souq - Day 2
Muscat
This day covers Muscat's main spots. Start with the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which has impressive sandstone and marble work along with chandeliers and detailed mosaics inside. Then swing by the Royal Opera House to see its contemporary design. After that, spend time wandering through Muttrah Souq where spice stalls and textile vendors line the alleys. Later in the afternoon, head up to Muttrah Fort as the sun starts getting lower, and you'll get good views of the city while learning about Oman's history.

Al Hamra - Jebel Akhdar
You're heading inland to see the mountain and village side of Oman. In Nizwa, walk through the fort with its open courtyards and check out the souq next to it where you'll find textiles, spices, and local crafts. From there, continue to Al Hamra, a small village with traditional mudbrick buildings that sit under the Hajar Mountains. Then drive up to Jebel Akhdar to see orchards, wadis tucked between cliffs, isolated villages, and some ancient rock carvings scattered around the area.

Omani Desert
Head out from the city into the Omani desert where you'll leave buildings behind for open sand and wide views. You'll meet with a Bedouin family, share dates and coffee, and hear stories about desert life. As evening arrives and the sky turns red and gold, you'll reach your camp in the desert. Dinner happens under the stars, and you'll sit by a fire experiencing what a desert night actually feels like.

- Day 5
Sur - Ras al Jinz
Start the morning at Wadi Bani Khalid where turquoise pools sit between tall canyon walls, perfect for cooling off and swimming. Explore Mukal Cave to see the underground space. After lunch at the wadi, drive to Sur to see how traditional dhows are built by hand at the factory. Later, head to Ras al Jinz where a guide will take you to the beach at night to watch green sea turtles and their hatchlings heading to the ocean under moonlight.

Fins Beach - Bimmah Sinkhole - Muscat
This route follows the Sea of Oman coastline with turquoise water and rocky mountains on both sides. At Wadi Shab, jump into green pools surrounded by cliffs and hike to a waterfall tucked away in the canyon. Next is Fins Beach with its unusual pink pebbles and clear water for swimming. Then visit the Bimmah Sinkhole, a natural pool built into the mountain that's full of fish and other sea life. You'll head back toward Muscat as the day winds down and light fades.

Landmarks/POIs Wadi Shab Fins Beach Bimmah Sinkhole - Day 7
Sea of Oman Diving
Spend the day underwater off the Oman coast looking at coral reefs and what lives in them. You'll see fish in schools moving through coral formations, sea anemones swaying on the bottom, and colorful nudibranchs crawling around. With luck, dolphins show up and put on a show with their jumps and calls, which makes the whole experience stick with you.

Muscat Departure
Your time in Oman is wrapping up now. Depending on when your flight leaves, you might have time to explore more of Muscat or just relax at the hotel. Peregrine Treks and Tours will arrange your ride to the airport, and you'll head home with memories from your Oman trip.
