Itinerary
- Day 1
Los Angeles to San Luis Obispo
You'll start early in Los Angeles with a morning sightseeing tour that takes in Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, the Hollywood sign, and Sunset Boulevard. From there, you'll head out on the scenic Pacific Coast Highway with a lunch stop in Santa Barbara, then keep driving north to San Luis Obispo where you'll have dinner on your own.

- Day 2
Pacific Coast Highway
This morning you'll drive Highway 1 to San Simeon to watch elephant seals relaxing on the beach. After that, continue north to Ragged Point for great views and a hike down to the beach. You'll spend the afternoon relaxing, swimming, or renting a bike to find the right spot for watching the sunset over the Pacific.

San Luis Obispo to Yosemite
After breakfast you'll pack up and head inland toward Yosemite National Park. By the time you arrive in El Portal, you'll set up camp, then drive through the Arch Rock entrance and follow the scenic Merced River to get your first look at what the park has to offer.

- Day 4
Yosemite National Park
Today is all about seeing Yosemite's famous waterfalls and giant sequoia trees. You'll watch climbers working El Capitan, and you can pick from several hiking options like The Mist Trail, Yosemite Falls, or Nevada Falls. If you'd rather take it easier, rent a bike to cruise around the valley floor instead.

Yosemite to Bishop
You'll break down camp and drive across some beautiful landscapes toward Bishop. Along the way, hike to see giant sequoia trees at Tuolumne Grove and tackle the Lembert Dome Trail. Later you'll travel over Tioga Pass and roll into Bishop in the early evening to pitch your tent under the stars.

Bishop to Las Vegas
You're driving through Death Valley today, the hottest and driest place in North America. Check out Furnace Creek, Badwater Basin, and Zabriskie Point in the morning, then head to Las Vegas for the evening. Walk The Strip, catch a show, or try your luck at the casinos, whatever sounds good to you.

- Day 7
Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon
You'll leave Las Vegas early and head toward Bryce Canyon National Park. Stop in Cedar City around 1:00 pm to grab lunch on your own, then arrive at the park in the early afternoon. Spend hours hiking and checking out the unique hoodoos rock formations, including the Navajo Loop and Queens Garden trail before setting up camp and cooking dinner with your group.

Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park
You'll eat breakfast at camp and pack a lunch for the day ahead. Drive to Zion National Park and board the shuttle to explore. Pick from trail options like The Emerald Pools, The Narrows, Scouts Lookout, or Watchman Trail, have your lunch in the park, then return to East Zion for the evening. Later you'll relax at camp, roast marshmallows around the campfire, and stargaze.

Landmarks Zion National Park - Day 9
Zion to Grand Canyon
You'll wake early and drive to Grand Canyon National Park with scenic stops along the way. Your first stop is Horseshoe Bend, a geological formation carved out by the Colorado River. After walking to the overlook and taking in the views, you'll stop for lunch at a Navajo-inspired restaurant, then arrive at the Grand Canyon in time to set up camp for the next two nights and catch the sunset.

Landmarks Horseshoe Bend Grand Canyon National Park - Day 10
Grand Canyon South Rim
After breakfast and packing a lunch, spend the day hiking from the South Rim and taking in different perspectives of the canyon. Pick your own trail routes and do multiple shorter hikes to really understand how big and deep the canyon is. Bring plenty of water and go at your own pace. You'll have your picnic lunch in the park, then optionally rent a bike or take a helicopter ride, ending with pizza dinner on the rim at sunset.

Grand Canyon to Joshua Tree
After breakfast you'll pack up and drive southwest along Route 66, one of the most well-known roads in America. Stop in Seligman along Route 66, then continue to Kingman for a lunch break on your own. You'll make short stops throughout the drive to see the Mojave Desert and unique Joshua trees, then arrive at camp in the early evening with time to explore Pioneer Town before sunset and stargazing.

Joshua Tree to Santa Monica
You'll pack your gear after breakfast and drive to one of LA's famous beaches. Spend the whole afternoon free in Santa Monica to lounge on the sand, try the local ice cream, ride the pier, or people watch from a bar. Make it count however you want. Tonight you'll stay at a hip hostel in Santa Monica.
