Your flight touches down at New Delhi airport where someone from Alkof Holidays will be waiting to pick you up. They'll drive you to your hotel, and then you've got the rest of the day to yourself. Wander around the city's busy streets and leafy avenues to get a feel for India from the start.

New Delhi
A guided tour takes you through Delhi's main landmarks today. You'll start at Rajghat, where Mahatma Gandhi is memorialized, then head to Jama Masjid. Later, a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk's market gives you a sense of the chaos and energy there. From there, you'll drive past the President House and India Gate, tour Humayun's Tomb, and finish up at Qutab Minar as the sun sets.

Varanasi
You're up early for a boat ride on the River Ganges where you can watch the city wake up. Next, you'll visit an Akhara to see traditional martial arts training. After that, explore the ghats on foot and visit Kashi-Vishwanath Temple (the Golden Temple) and Bharat Mata Mandir. Then you head to Sarnath to tour the Dhamekha Stupa, check out the Archaeological Museum, and see Chaukhandi Stupa. Your evening ends back at the Ganges for the Aarti ceremony.

Kathmandu
After breakfast, a guided sightseeing tour takes you through Kathmandu's key spots. You'll see Kathmandu Durbar Square with its old palaces and temples, then head to Swayambhunath Stupa, known as the 'Monkey Temple' sitting on a hillock about 2km west. A rickshaw ride through Thamel gets you into the tourist area with its narrow streets and shops. You'll finish at Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO site called the 'city of artisans' with over 1200 Newari architecture monuments.

Nagarkot
You drive toward Nagarkot (about an hour and a half under normal conditions). En route, you'll stop at Boudhanath, one of Nepal's oldest and biggest Buddhist monuments with its distinctive 36-meter spherical stupa. Next comes Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO site and former capital, where you'll try your hand at a pottery workshop. The day ends in Nagarkot, a mountain village known for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas.

Chitwan National Park
Wildlife activities fill your day in Chitwan. You'll start with a canoe ride down the Rapti River in a traditional dugout canoe, where crocodiles and waterfowl might appear. Then a walk through the subtropical jungle with trained naturalists lets you spot deer, rhinos, and sloth bears while learning about local plants and animals. After lunch at the resort, a half-day jeep safari (4 to 5 hours) takes you into the National Park, and you'll visit the Crocodile Breeding Center to see their egg collection and river release programs.
