Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens
You'll arrive in Athens and head to your hotel for check-in. Your tour representative meets you in the afternoon to go over the itinerary and give you a sense of the city layout. The rest of the afternoon is yours to wander around at your own pace and get your bearings. Later, you'll join a guided walk through some of Athens' most charming areas, visiting Anafiotika, Thiseio, Monastiraki, and Plaka. These neighborhoods have narrow streets with old houses and plenty of local character.

- Day 2
Athens to Kalambaka
You'll catch a train at Larissa station in central Athens and travel through the scenic countryside toward Kalambaka, passing through farmland and mountains along the way. After arriving and getting to your hotel, you'll head out in the afternoon for a sunset tour. The day includes stops at one of the six working Meteora monasteries, the Byzantine church of the Virgin Mary in old Kalambaka, and the ancient hermitages at Badovas. You'll finish by climbing up the Meteora rocks just as the sun sets.

- Day 3
Kalambaka to Thessaloniki
Following breakfast, you'll take a morning excursion to visit the Meteora monasteries and learn about the first one ever built here and why monks chose this dramatic rocky landscape. You'll have time for photos and to take in the panoramic views. After lunch, you'll head to Kalambaka train station at 4:45 PM, then board trains to Paleofarsala and connect to Thessaloniki. Your driver picks you up at the station and takes you to your hotel.

Landmarks Meteora Monasteries - Day 4
Thessaloniki
This day is completely free to explore Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city and a major hub in the north. The city has a rich past, especially from its Byzantine period, and plenty of modern things to do as well. You can walk around at your own pace, check out shops, try restaurants, or just soak in the atmosphere of this historic port city.

- Day 5
Thessaloniki to Athens
You'll have the morning free to spend in Thessaloniki's city center, relaxing or visiting anything you might have missed the day before. In the afternoon, you'll head to the train station and board a train back to Athens. The journey takes you through Greek countryside with mountains and fertile farmland stretching out around you. You'll pull into Larissa station in central Athens at 7:30 PM.

- Day 6
Athens to Mykonos
You'll head to the port of Piraeus and board a ferry to Mykonos, crossing the Aegean Sea with nice views the whole way. When you arrive, your tour representative will help you get to your hotel and give you a quick introduction to the island. The rest of the day is yours to relax and ease into the island's laid-back vibe, maybe grab dinner at a waterfront taverna or just settle in at your accommodations.

- Day 7
Mykonos
You have the full day to explore Mykonos however you'd like. Hit the beaches, browse through shops, or check out the nightlife in the evening. Try some Mediterranean food with fresh vegetables, good olive oil, oregano, basil, and fresh fish and seafood. If you want, you can take an optional day trip to nearby Delos, the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis in Greek mythology, which has ancient ruins and historical significance.

Mykonos to Santorini
After breakfast, you'll transfer to Mykonos airport and fly to Santorini with a connection through Athens. As you approach Santorini, you'll see the iconic white houses clinging to cliffs above the volcano from the air. Your tour representative meets you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. Spend the evening wandering through Santorini's narrow streets and catching one of the famous sunsets that draw visitors from all over.

- Day 9
Santorini
You have the day to yourself to explore Santorini's beautiful landscape and villages. There's an optional sailboat tour if you're interested, which takes you out to the small islands in Santorini Caldera, including Nea and Palea Kameni. You can swim in the famous hot springs with their distinctive green and yellow colored water, which makes for an unusual and interesting experience.

Santorini to Athens
You'll transfer to Santorini Airport and fly back to Athens. Your arrival is timed so you'll have plenty of time to catch your international flight, which departs after 12:30 PM. This gives you a comfortable buffer to get through the airport and complete any final requirements before heading home.
