  1. Day 1

    Thessaloniki Arrival

    Your coach will pick you up from the airport and take you directly to your hotel. Once you arrive, you'll have the evening to rest and get settled into your accommodation.

  2. Day 2

    Thessaloniki City Tour

    Start by heading to Thessaloniki's upper town to see the Byzantine walls and Saint Demetrios church. From there, you'll walk through some important Roman sites including the Rotunda and Arch of Galerius. Later, make your way down to the waterfront to check out the White Tower and the Alexander the Great statue. Before wrapping up, spend some time browsing through the Kapani Local Market where you can find local food and products.

  3. Day 3

    Dion and Old Panteleimon

    You'll travel to Dion, an ancient city that was a major sanctuary dedicated to Zeus. There you'll see the Temple of Zeus along with various shrines, mosaics, and bath structures. The Dion Museum has statues and artifacts that give you a sense of the site's historical importance. After exploring, head to the 14th-century village of Old Panteleimon where stone-paved streets and traditional taverns set the scene before lunch.

  4. Day 4

    Ancient Pella, Edessa and Wine Tasting

    Start your morning at Ancient Pella, where Alexander the Great was born and which served as Macedonia's former capital. You'll see symposium halls and remarkable pebble mosaics from the 4th century BC. Next you'll travel to Edessa, known as the City of Water, where you'll have free time to explore its waterfalls and old bridges. Later, sit down for lunch and then head to a local winery to taste Xinomavro wine, a well-known variety from the region.

    Meteora Monasteries

    You'll visit Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with towering rock formations that formed over 60 million years ago. Two of the six monasteries in the area are on your schedule. Inside, you'll see frescoes, icons, relics, and religious treasures. After exploring the monasteries, you'll have lunch in Kalambaka, the village at the base of the rock formations.

  6. Day 6

    Veria and Royal Tombs of Vergina

    Begin in Veria, the city where St. Paul preached, and take free time to wander through the old quarters including the Jewish quarter and various Byzantine churches. You can also try revani, a local cake specialty. Then travel to Vergina (Aegae), Macedonia's first capital. The New Museum of Aigai is your next stop, where you'll see royal tombs belonging to Philip II and other Macedonian kings, plus 4th century BC gold artifacts. Wrap up with lunch in Vergina village.

  7. Day 7

    Aristotle's Birthplace and Mount Athos Cruise

    Travel east past Koronia and Volvi lakes, moving through the scenic Rentina Castle route. You'll reach the Halkidiki region and the archaeological site of Stagira, Aristotle's birthplace. A guide will show you around the ancient ruins. Later, head to the port at Ouranoupolis and board a boat for a cruise around Mount Athos where you'll see eight monasteries from the water. You'll have free time in Ouranoupolis to grab lunch with views of the Singitic Gulf and the Athos peninsula.

    I notice your tours begin on Mondays following a Sunday flight but there are no Sunday flights from Manchester, so what would you suggest? Also, we would like to do 6 days by not going to Ouranopolis / Mt Athos on day 7.

For tours departing after January 1st, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with BTOURS. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 25 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
