- Day 1
Calgary to Banff
You'll arrive at Calgary International Airport and head west through Alberta's rolling foothills toward Banff National Park. After settling into your mountain accommodation with dramatic peaks all around, you can take a short walk through town, check out the Bow River, or simply relax and get used to the mountain setting depending on when you land.

Banff
The day is yours to spend in Banff National Park's landscapes. An optional guided wildlife-viewing tour might show you elk, bighorn sheep, or bears if you're lucky, or you could head to Lake Louise to see the glacial-blue waters and mountain backdrop. After that, explore Banff's alpine areas, browse local shops, or settle into a café overlooking the peaks.

Banff to Jasper
You'll drive the Icefields Parkway, one of the world's most scenic highways connecting Banff and Jasper. Along the route, stop to take in ancient glaciers and sweeping alpine views while a local guide talks about the region's geology and wildlife. By evening you'll arrive in Jasper and check into your hotel in the heart of the national park.

Jasper

Jasper to Vancouver (VIA Rail)
Board VIA Rail's Canadian at 09:30 for an overnight journey from the Rockies to the coast. You'll settle into your private cabin in Sleeper Plus Class with superb meals and attentive service as the train winds through the Rockies. Relax in refurbished Art Deco rail cars from the 1950s and take in 360-degree views from the dome observation deck.

Vancouver Arrival

Take the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying a waterfront walk, visiting a local market, or trying dinner with Pacific Northwest cuisine as you transition from alpine wilderness to west-coast culture.
