Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Marrakech to Dades Valley

    Your driver picks you up at 8 AM from your riad or hotel and you'll head east toward Dades Valley. The drive takes you over Tizi-N-Tichka pass through the High Atlas Mountains, where you'll pass through small Berber villages and the lush Skoura Palmerie. By evening you'll arrive at Dades Valley for the night.

  2. Day 2

    Dades Valley to Merzouga

    After breakfast, you're traveling along the Road of 1000 Kasbahs through colorful Berber villages until you reach Tineghir and its palm grove. At Todra Gorges you'll have free time to walk around the dramatic canyons. Then you head toward Merzouga Sahara with a lunch break before reaching Erg Chebbi dunes around 4 PM. From there you ride camels into the desert at sunset and spend the evening at a nomad camp with dinner and music under the stars.

  3. Day 3

    Merzouga to Ouarzazate

    This morning you'll wake early to catch the sunrise over Erg Chebbi dunes and have breakfast at the camp. After that you ride camels back to Merzouga, then continue north through Rissani where you can stop at a fossil workshop if you'd like. You'll pass through the small volcanic Atlas Mountains on your way to Ouarzazate, arriving for dinner and an overnight stay.

  4. Day 4

    Ouarzazate to Marrakech

    After breakfast, you'll visit the film studios and cinema sets in Ouarzazate, which locals call the 'Hollywood of Africa.' Next you head to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site that's been used in films like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. You'll walk through the Moroccan architecture there, then continue to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains with a lunch stop along the way, arriving at your hotel in the afternoon.
