Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
Your flight to Lukla departs this morning, and you'll see Himalayan peaks and valleys spread out below during the 30-minute journey. Once you land, your porter meets you for breakfast before the trek begins. From there, you'll head north through the Dudhkoshi valley for about 3 hours, crossing suspension bridges and walking past traditional villages until you reach Phakding.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
This day takes you through the Dudhkosi River Valley with multiple river crossings on suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags. You'll climb steeply for 2.5 hours through Jorsale to reach Namche Bazaar, the main trading center and entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. On clear days, Mt. Everest comes into view during the hike.

Namche Bazaar
An acclimatization day hike helps prepare your body for higher altitudes and prevents altitude sickness. You'll walk through Khunde and Khumjung villages, stopping at a monastery to see the Yeti head and trying a bakery at the world's highest altitude. Later, you'll climb to Everest View Hotel for panoramic mountain views before heading back down to Namche for the night.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After breakfast, you trek about 10km north to Tengboche at 3,870m/12,700ft, navigating terrain that gets narrower and steeper as you go. The route passes numerous monasteries, suspension bridges, waterfalls, and rhododendron forests. Upon arrival, you'll visit one of Nepal's oldest monasteries and see Buddhist spiritual rituals before settling into a local tea house.

Tengboche to Dingboche
You start early after breakfast and trek toward Everest Base Camp through thinning air. The 4-hour trek moves through the Imja valley and several Sherpa villages, bringing you to Dingboche at 4,410m/14,470ft. You'll spend the night here before heading to Chhukung tomorrow.

Dingboche to Chhukung
After breakfast, you'll hike for a few hours to Chhukung at 4,760m/15,620ft where the mountain views become even more striking. This acclimatization day lets your body adjust to the high altitude and helps reduce the risk of altitude mountain sickness. Rest or explore the surrounding area at your own pace.

Chhukung to Lobuche
You begin early after a healthy breakfast and continue ascending toward Lobuche. Along the way, you'll pass the largest memorials in the Everest region honoring fallen mountaineers. You'll arrive at Lobuche in late afternoon, giving you time to either rest or explore this high-altitude settlement.

Lobuche to Base Camp to Gorakshep
This is the most challenging day. After breakfast, you'll hike about 15km through rocky terrain next to the Khumbu Glacier to reach Everest Base Camp at 5,364m/17,598ft. You'll have time to soak in the surroundings and take photos, particularly if it's March-May when commercial expeditions attempt the summit. After lunch, you trek downhill to Gorakshep for the night.

Gorakshep to Kalapatthar to Dzongla
You start very early to hike to Kalapatthar and watch sunrise light up the Himalayan peaks in a unique way. After enjoying the mountain views, you'll head back to Lobuche, then continue on a 6-hour trek to Dzongla, the only settlement where you can spend the night in this area.

Landmarks/POIs Kalapatthar - Day 10
Dzongla to Tagnag via Cho-La Pass
You'll cross the spectacular Cho-La Pass at 5,420m/17,782ft on a gradual ascent through rhododendron forests. If luck is on your side, you might spot musk deer along the way. From the pass, you get remarkable views of Ama Dablam and Tawache, then trek down to Tagnag, a village just below a small cliff where you'll stay the night.

Tagnag to Gokyo
An early morning short 4km trek takes you to Gokyo, a small Buddhist village. You'll cross the Ngozompa glacier and a wooden bridge decorated with prayer flags that spans the Dudh Koshi river. Along the way, you'll see the first of the Gokyo Lakes where beautiful ducks live, and before reaching Gokyo, you'll stop at a resting place covered in vibrant prayer flags. From there, you can visit and photograph the Fifth Lake.

Gokyo to Lungden via Gokyo-Ri and Renjo-La Pass
An early morning climb to Gokyo-Ri at 5,333m/17,496ft gives you sweeping views of the massive Ngozumpa glacier, upper Gokyo Valley, and major peaks including Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and Gychung Kang. After that, you cross the steep Renjo-La pass at 5,300m/17,388ft and descend to Lungden at 4,350m/14,272ft for the night.

Lungden to Thame
You trek to Thame, situated at 3,800m/12,467ft, visiting the historic Thame monastery on the way. You'll see Buddhist spiritual practices and learn about Sherpa culture. Spend the night here to rest before your downhill trek begins tomorrow.

Thame to Namche Bazaar
Walking downhill through Sherpa villages, you leave the high mountains behind. The route takes you back to Namche Bazaar, the main trading center and cultural hub you visited earlier in the trek. You'll settle into a guest house for the night.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
You spend approximately 7 hours walking downhill from Namche back to Lukla, finishing your time in Sagarmatha National Park. Tomorrow you'll fly back to Kathmandu, so this is your final day on the trail.

Lukla to Kathmandu
An early morning flight takes you from Lukla back to Kathmandu, and you'll see mountain views from the air (grab a seat on the right side to catch the Himalayan peaks one more time). When you land in Kathmandu, you'll be escorted back to your hotel, marking the end of your trek adventure.
