- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll arrive at Luang Prabang airport and get transferred to your hotel. If early check-in works out, you can settle in and then spend the rest of the day exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site at your own pace. It's a good chance to get oriented and take things slow after travel.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
This morning you'll head to a community rice farm outside the city to get hands-on with traditional Laotian agriculture. After that, you'll check out local craft workshops where they do bamboo weaving, blacksmithing, and sugar cane processing. In the afternoon, the Traditional Art and Ethnology Center is on the agenda, followed by Wat Xiengthong and the Royal Palace Museum. Later, you'll climb Phousi Hill for sunset views and then browse the Night Market before heading back.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
You'll wake early to participate in the sacred daily alms giving with Buddhist monks, a practice dating back to the 14th century. After that, you'll visit the temporary morning market and grab breakfast at the hotel. The Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center is next, where you'll attend a 60-minute seminar on ethnic diversity and cultural practices. Lunch includes a Khmu ethnic meal at TAEC Café. The afternoon takes you to Kuang Si waterfall and Ban Thapene village with its hidden waterfalls. You can optionally visit the Bear Rescue Center, then wind down at Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center for sunset views before returning to the hotel.

- Day 4
Luang Prabang
You'll cycle to a famous Lao coffee shop by the Mekong River for coffee and local Khanom Khrok pastry. Next, the morning market gives you a chance to learn about local cooking ingredients and sample delicacies. Cycling continues to Wat That Luang for Khao Poon coconut noodle soup, then Ban Vieng Xay village for street food. After crossing the old bridge to Nam Khan River, you'll visit local weaving and Saa paper handicrafts in Ban Xieng Lek, stopping at a bamboo restaurant for lunch. The afternoon involves cycling through lesser-known parts of town to see UNESCO-categorized architecture, including traditional Lao houses, French colonial buildings, and Chinese shop houses before returning your bike.

- Day 5
Luang Prabang to Ban Xienglom
You'll leave Luang Prabang around 8:30am heading to nearby Xieng Lom village. There you'll get an in-depth introduction to elephant behavior and take a boat across Nam Khan River to meet them. You'll feed the elephants treats and can watch mahouts washing and bathing them in the river if you'd like. Then comes a 2-hour walk through traditional Lao gardens to reach Huay Nok stream jungle, where you'll walk alongside elephants through cool water. After returning to MandaLao restaurant for a fresh organic Lao meal, you'll have time to chat with guides and stroll the camp before heading to Chateau Orientale for the night.

- Day 6
Ban Xienglom to Ban Xiengmouak
At 8:00am you'll transfer to Nahm Dong park, about 10km from the city center. The park manager will welcome you before you join a cooking class where you learn Lao cuisine, pick ingredients from the gardens, and prepare at least 5 seasonal dishes with a recipe booklet provided. Lunch features the dishes you created. Afterward, you'll experience zipline flying over jungle and waterfalls for roughly an hour, then trek back through jungle crossing flying bridges, streams, and natural pools where swimming is possible. You'll have time to relax at camp or explore the park before heading to nearby Hillside Ecolodge for the night.

- Day 7
Ban Xiengmouak to Muang Soune
You depart Luang Prabang at 9:00am and spend 9:30am to 10:30am at the local market picking fresh ingredients for cooking during your stay. After a 30-minute river crossing by local ferry around 12:00pm to 12:30pm, you'll meet the family and have lunch together from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. You'll rest until 2:00pm, then explore local village activities until 5:00pm, which include school visits, weavers who can make traditional dress, and other village artisans. From 5:00pm to 6:00pm you can bathe in the river or shower in the house. You'll participate in the Baci ceremony from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, prepare and enjoy dinner with the family from 7:30pm to 9:00pm, and afterward you're welcome to join card games or other activities.

- Day 8
Muang Soune to Luang Prabang
You'll wake at 5:00am to prepare sticky rice for the monk's offering, then join alms giving at the temple from 6:00am to 7:00am. Breakfast with the family follows from 7:00am to 8:00am. From 8:00am to 10:00am you'll go fishing on the Ou River with Kham and her uncle to learn new techniques. Hiking to rice fields and exploring rural farmer life plus organic gardens takes you through 10:00am to 1:00pm. Lunch with the family runs from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, then you'll have free time to purchase souvenirs until 3:00pm. You'll cross the river by local boat from 3:00pm to 3:30pm and depart back to Luang Prabang, arriving at the airport by 5:00pm for your departure flight.
