Drive out to Mutianyu Great Wall where you choose between hiking or taking the cable car. Grab Chinese lunch at a local restaurant, then stop at a jade carving factory on the return trip. Before heading back to your hotel, you'll get photos at the Bird Nest and Water Cube.

Beijing to Shanghai
Check out this morning and start with a relaxing rickshaw ride through the Hutong area to see how locals live. Next comes the Summer Palace, China's largest imperial garden, with a boat ride on Kunming Lake. After lunch you'll take the high-speed train to Shanghai and settle into your new hotel.

Shanghai
Start at Yuyuan Garden, a traditional Chinese garden right downtown. Shop at Shanghai Old Street and Nanjing Road, which was the city's first major commercial street. Take a walk along the Bund at your own pace. After lunch you'll visit Jade Buddha Temple and see the Oriental Pearl TV Tower from the Riverside Promenade.

Your pickup comes this morning to explore Bangkok's temples. You'll visit Wat Trimit to see the Golden Buddha, then Wat Pho with its massive Reclining Buddha. The route takes you past Sanam Laung, Democracy Monument, and government buildings before stopping at Wat Benchamabophit, known for its marble construction.

Get picked up at 8:00 AM and head southwest to Ratchaburi province. Visit a sugar palm factory to watch how sugar gets made. Take a long-tail boat from the pier through local canals to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Browse produce and flowers from vendors in boats, and try local drinks like fresh coconut juice or pick up souvenirs.

Start at 7:00 AM for about a 1.5-hour drive south through hills and farming areas to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. You'll change into Karen clothing and help prepare medicine for the elephants. Spend the morning feeding and playing with them in their natural habitat, then enjoy a mud spa and bathe them in the river. After a traditional meal you'll drive back to Chiang Mai.

Grab lunch before returning by 5:00 PM.
