Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Machu Picchu
Your hotel pickup happens at 5:30 am, then you'll head to Ollantaytambo train station for the journey ahead. The Vistadome Observatory train takes you through the cloud forest for about an hour and a half, with windows that let you see everything as you descend toward Aguas Calientes. After a quick coffee break to stretch, you'll board a bus for the 30-minute ride up to Machu Picchu. Your guide takes you through the site for 2 to 3 hours, covering the Temple of the Sun and Condor Temple among other structures. Lunch happens at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge right there on the grounds, then you head back down to Aguas Calientes for the afternoon to walk around town and grab whatever you want. Later on you'll catch the evening Vistadome train back to Cusco.
