- Day 1
Germany to Mauritius to La Réunion
Your flight departs from Germany heading to Mauritius, then you'll continue onward to La Réunion. This is your travel day, so settle in for the journey.
- Day 2
Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, La Réunion
You'll pick up your rental car from the tour guide after arriving. Head into Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, a lively coastal town where you can spend time at the beaches. Try snorkeling in the clear lagoon waters at L'Hermitage or Boucan Canot. Later, walk along the port to catch the sunset. If you're interested, there's an optional boat tour to spot dolphins or whales, and Kélonia turtle center is worth a stop if you have time.

Saint-Gilles-les-Bains to Cilaos, La Réunion
Drive into Cirque de Cilaos using the famous Route de Cilaos, which has over 400 hairpin bends and offers great mountain views along the way. Once there, wander through the charming mountain village and look through the craft stores selling local textiles and the region's famous Cilaos lentils. Later, relax in the thermal springs and take in the quiet surroundings.

- Day 5
Cilaos, La Réunion
Hike to Roche Merveilleuse for nice views of the valley and the peaks around you. If you're up for something more intense, you can try canyoning, ziplining, or paragliding to see Cirque de Cilaos from a different angle. The choice depends on your comfort level and what appeals to you.

Cilaos to Saint-Philippe, La Réunion
Head to Saint-Philippe on the wild south coast, called the 'green southern shore'. Drive along Route des Laves where old lava flows have shaped an interesting coastal landscape. Stop at Jardin des Parfums et des Épices to see exotic plants and spices up close. Finish the evening with a traditional Creole dinner.

Saint-Philippe to La Plaine des Cafés, La Réunion
Travel to La Plaine des Cafés, a green region near Piton de la Fournaise volcano. Start early to see the volcano's lunar-like landscape. The views from Pas de Bellecombe overlook the crater and are well worth the stop. If you're an experienced hiker, you can go down into Enclos Fouqué for a closer look at the crater. The Cité du Volcan museum gives good background on how La Réunion was shaped geologically.

- Day 8
La Plaine des Cafés to Hell-Bourg, La Réunion
Travel to Hell-Bourg in Cirque de Salazie, a village ranked among France's most beautiful. Walk through on foot and see the lush vegetation and traditional Creole houses. Visit Maison Folio, which is a carefully restored Creole house that shows you what island life and architecture were like historically. The Voile de la Mariée waterfall nearby is impressive and worth seeing.

Hell-Bourg to Mauritius
Make your way back to the airport and drop off your rental car. You'll drive through different landscapes of La Réunion one last time before flying to Mauritius. After you land, transfer to your beach hotel.

You have free time to relax by the sea and check out the tropical landscape around you. Try some of the local food and just unwind before heading home.
