  1. Day 1

    Seward

    You'll board the MS Roald Amundsen in Seward and get outfitted with your complimentary expedition jacket before heading to your cabin. Meet the Expedition Team and walk around the ship as you set sail toward Kenai Fjords National Park. This is where your Alaska and British Columbia expedition cruise officially kicks off.

  2. Day 2

    College Fjord

    College Fjord comes into view, and you'll get a close look at five tidewater glaciers and five valley glaciers named after universities by the 1899 Harriman expedition team. Head out in small boats or kayaks to get as near as possible, watching for humpback whales, bald eagles, otters, and sea lions moving through the water.

    Icy Bay

    Your day takes you to Icy Bay where three glaciers calve regularly into the water. You'll explore by RIB or kayak if conditions cooperate, scanning the Gulf of Alaska waters for humpback whales, orcas, Steller sea lions, sea otters, and harbor seals resting on floating ice. It's ideal for photography if you brought a good camera.

    Chichagof Island

    Morning brings you past Point Adolphus, where the nutrient-rich waters attract humpback whales and other marine life. Later, the ship drops anchor at William Henry Bay. From there, an expert local guide takes you to explore the shores lined with old-growth forest where brown bears, black bears, and moose roam.

    Haines

    You'll arrive in Haines, a frontier town with roots in the Chilkat Tlingit community known for their weaving traditions. Check out the art galleries and workshops featuring totem carvings, silverwork, and sculptures. The surrounding landscapes offer great hiking opportunities and chances to spot bald eagles, bears, and moose for photography.

    Tracy Arm - Endicott Arm

    Holkham Bay opens up with two fjords to choose from: Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm. Your captain picks based on conditions for the day. Fresh icebergs calve from glaciers against forested cliffs, and you might see whales, bears, mountain goats, and moose. The Expedition Team gives photography tips before you head out on small boats.

    Sitka

    Sitka appears surrounded by Tongass National Forest and accessible only by sea or air. From deck, you'll see the Sisters Mountains and Mount Edgecumbe Volcano. Walk through the Russian Orthodox cathedral and Russian Bishop's House, then check out Haida and Tlingit totem poles at Sitka National Historical Park. Forest trails lead down to the ocean for more exploration.

    Inside Passage

    Southeast Alaska's waterways offer flexibility for your day. You might head to Petersburg to see the town's Norwegian heritage and fishing community character. Or go out in small boats toward secluded coves, iceberg-filled bays, and forested shorelines. Either way, watch for eagles, otters, whales, and possibly bears moving through the landscape.

    Wrangell

    Wrangell, one of Alaska's oldest harbor towns, welcomes you. A short walk takes you to Petroglyph Beach to see ancient rock carvings in the sand. Visit the local museum to learn about the town's past under British, Russian, Tlingit, and American governance. Cross to Shakes Island for the Chief Shakes Tribal House and totem poles, or hike trails near Stikine River and Mount Dewey.

    Misty Fjords reveals a pristine wilderness within Tongass National Forest with evergreens, waterfalls, and snow-capped peaks. Weather permitting, the Expedition Team takes you out by RIB or kayak to scan for mountain goats, bears, and moose. The waters hold Pacific salmon, otters, sea lions, harbor seals, orcas, and Dall's porpoises while herons and bald eagles fly overhead.

    You'll sail the Inside Passage, a protected stretch of North American Pacific Fjordland stretching over 930 miles. Unlike larger cruise ships, you see the scenery during daylight hours and reach areas those bigger vessels can't access. Keep your camera and binoculars ready to spot dolphins, porpoises, orcas, and humpback whales throughout the day.

    Alert Bay

    Alert Bay on Cormorant Island appears north of Vancouver Island, a scenic village where you'll meet and learn from the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations community. Head to the U'mista Cultural Center to see elaborate totem poles, paintings, carvings, and ceremonial masks. The island's sheltered waters attract diverse wildlife including the distinctive yellow-billed loon, plus orcas and humpback whales close to shore.

Wander through Gastown, the city's oldest neighborhood, and climb Vancouver Lookout for views of Granville Street, West End beaches, and Stanley Park's towering cedars. Later, try Vancouver's global cuisine in Chinatown, Punjabi Market, or Little Italy before heading onward.
