Ljubljana
Your trip starts this evening with a welcome meeting at 6 pm in Ljubljana. If you're getting there early, you can walk up to Ljubljana Castle for views over the city, wander through Tivoli Park, or check out Saint Nicholas' Cathedral before heading to the meeting. Your tour leader will have suggestions for dinner afterward, so you'll know where the good local restaurants are.

Slovenia - Motovun
After breakfast, you'll head toward Croatia with a stop for traditional Istrian lunch at a local farm featuring seasonal fruit, homemade bread and honey. From there, it's on to Fonda Fish Farm in Portoroz where you'll take a boat tour learning how they farm sea bass sustainably and get to taste raw fish carpaccio. Later you'll drive to Motovun, a hilltop village perched in the Croatian countryside. The evening is free for you to wander around and find dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.

Motovun
This morning you'll walk through Motovun Forest with an experienced truffle hunter who'll teach you how to spot and dig for the region's famous Istrian truffles. Afterward, there's a wine tasting at a small local winery where you'll sample varieties from the area and learn how the soil and climate here shape the flavors. The rest of your day is open, so you can explore at your own pace.

- Day 4
Motovun - Plitvice Lakes National Park
You're leaving Motovun today for Plitvice Lakes National Park, Croatia's largest park and a UNESCO site. On the way, you'll stop at Kumparicka Goat Farm for lunch where you'll meet the goats, see how their diet affects the cheese, watch the cheese-making process, and taste samples with fresh bread and local wine. Later you'll arrive at Plitvice Lakes, and your leader can point you toward restaurants for dinner.

Later in the day, you'll head to a local's home for a traditional kotlovina dinner, which is a mixed meat dish made mainly with pork schnitzels and sausages cooked in a cauldron. You'll watch your hosts prepare everything before sitting down to eat the hearty, spiced meal.

Plitvice Lakes National Park - Split
Today you're traveling to Split, a coastal town on the Dalmatian coast that sits on a peninsula reaching into the Adriatic. Once you arrive, the rest of the day is yours. You could head to Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site, or spend time at Bacvice City Beach, or just walk along the Riva Promenade by the water. For dinner you'll find fresh octopus salad or peka, a slow-roasted meat dish, at the local restaurants.

Then visit a local family who specializes in soparnik, a traditional pastry with silverbeet, onions and parsley. You'll participate in a cooking demonstration so you can learn how to make these pastries yourself. The evening wraps up with a farewell drink with your group to celebrate the end of your trip.
