Itinerary
- Day 1
Derwent Valley to Maydena
The drive through Derwent Valley takes you to Maydena Bike Park where you'll spend the full day on the trails. There are options for all skill levels here, from beginner routes to advanced terrain, and the rainforest setting with its elevation changes keeps things interesting throughout. You'll break for lunch at the park's cafe where they serve local produce, then head back to your accommodation by evening.

Derwent Bridge - Strahan
Starting with walks in Mt Field National Park, you'll see Russell Falls and follow scenic tracks through the area. Later, you head west into the central highlands and stop at the Wall in the Wilderness near Derwent Bridge, which is a 100-meter carved Huon Pine sculpture showing the region's history. By afternoon you reach coastal Strahan and check in. Before dinner, you head to Henty Dunes for a picnic as the sun sets over the dramatic landscape.

- Day 3
King River Gorge - Cradle Mountain
You head out to Queenstown for the King River Gorge Raft and Steam adventure. The rafting section takes you through 7km of rapids in a remote rainforest gorge surrounded by ancient Huon Pine trees. After that, you board a heritage steam train heading back toward Queenstown with a water stop at Rinadeena. Following lunch, the journey continues to Cradle Mountain National Park where you'll check in and settle by the fire for the evening.

- Day 4
Cradle Mountain Canyoning
There's an optional early morning 6km walk around Dove Lake if you want it, giving you close-up and broader views of Cradle Mountain through rainforest. The main event is a full day canyoning adventure with Cradle Mountain Canyons at Dove Canyon. You'll work through six waterfall obstacles, abseiling, jumping, or sliding past each one. The Laundry Chute is the standout, a 10-meter natural slide that sends you into a large pool below.

Mt Amos
This morning you explore Cradle Mountain National Park once more, then drive east toward Freycinet National Park with a few stops along the way to break up the drive. Upon reaching Coles Bay, you get your hiking boots on for Mt Amos, which is part of the granite Hazards range. The steep track to the summit takes roughly 2 hours and opens up to panoramic views from the top.

- Day 6
Freycinet Kayaking and ATV Adventure
The day starts at the waterfront where you join a guided kayaking paddle with Freycinet Adventure around the Freycinet Peninsula. You'll paddle under pink granite mountains and past pristine beaches on clear water, watching for marine life and wildlife. Around halfway through, you stop on a secluded beach for fresh coffee and a snack. After lunch, you climb onto a 2-seater Honda Pioneer ATV and explore hidden spots in the national park, including South Friendly Beaches and Cape Tourville's sea cliffs.

Wineglass Bay Cruise to Hobart
After six days of activity, you relax on a 4.5-hour cruise departing from Coles Bay through Freycinet National Park toward Wineglass Bay. The cruise passes the Hazards' pink granite peaks and white sand beaches that you can only reach by water or walking. You'll explore Schouten Island to see wildlife and look for sea caves and waterfalls. On the return journey to Hobart, there's a stop at Devils Corner for a tasting. The cruise pulls back into Hobart around 5:30 PM.
