Itinerary
- Day 1
Porto
You'll arrive in Porto and make your way to the Nicko Cruises ship, then head to your cabin to get settled. Before dinner, you'll meet the other passengers for a welcome drink onboard. The ship takes passengers between 17:00 and 19:00, so time your arrival accordingly.

Landmarks Porto - Day 2
Porto
After breakfast, a guided tour takes you through Porto's narrow 16th century streets with their arcaded passages and Baroque churches. You'll cross the iconic iron bridge designed by Gustav Eiffel to reach the cathedral on Penaventosa hill, which offers nice views of the city. Then you'll visit a traditional port wine cellar to see how they store the wine and taste it yourself. Lunch is back on the ship, and you'll sail to Caldas de Aregos in the afternoon.

Pinhão
The ship arrives in Pinhão, a town sitting on a scenic bend of the River Douro in the heart of Portugal's port wine region. This afternoon you'll visit Mateus Palace, a baroque building with an impressive facade featuring decorative pinnacles. After exploring the palace, you'll return to the ship for the evening.

Landmarks Mateus Palace Pinhão - Day 4
Barca d'Alva
You have a relaxed morning while the ship sails to Barca d'Alva. Once there, an excursion takes you to Castelo Rodrigo, a medieval village that's one of Portugal's twelve historical parishes. The hillside location and old architecture make it worth the trip from the ship.

Landmarks Castelo Rodrigo Barca d'Alva - Day 5
Barca d'Alva
This is a free day where you can either stay on the ship and use its facilities or walk around Barca d'Alva itself, the last Portuguese village on the Douro before the Spanish border with mountains rising up behind it. If you prefer, there's an optional excursion available to Salamanca across the border in Spain.

Landmarks Barca d'Alva Salamanca - Day 6
Régua - Lamego
After a slow morning, you'll reach Régua in the early afternoon. Then you head to Lamego, a town with a lot of history. The main attraction is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, a baroque church built in the 1700s that sits on top of the remains of a 14th century chapel. You'll get back to the ship in time for dinner.

Porto
You have a full day to relax and enjoy the ship as it sails back toward Porto. The ship arrives in the early afternoon, giving you time to pack and prepare for disembarkation tomorrow morning.

Porto
After breakfast onboard, you'll say goodbye to the people you've met during the cruise. Disembarkation happens by 09:00, so you need to have all your things ready and be off the ship before then.
