Highlights
- Between sugar cane mills and volcanic beaches in Porto da Cruz: The small fishing village is beautifully nestled between the famous Eagle Rock, green forests and the Atlantic. Here you can enjoy the sea, typical local cuisine in authentic restaurants and, if you wish, a cultural program. Next to sugar cane mills you will find the “Engenhos do Norte” factory, where rum is produced.
- The Skywalk at Cabo Girão: At a height of 580 meters there is a top-class viewing platform. Look over the edge of the glass structure, where the cliff drops several hundred meters into the depths.
- The island's capital, Funchal: Located in a bay, the capital of Madeira enchants with its charm and lively atmosphere. The city is arranged like an amphitheater, but nature is never far away. Visit the Mercado dos Lavradores or stroll through the colorful Rua de Santa Maria.

Customer Reviews
- Sabine· October 3rd, 2024Well organized trip. Luggage transportation worked very well. Itinerary is very beautiful. Can be recommended at any time.Show more
- John· April 21st, 2024Bikes: Good to excellent, saddle size was a downgrade. The large, padded saddles caused new friction where sitting wear points didn't exist. Unfortunately, bike companies refuse to standardize bike saddles so there is no solution for clients traveling too far to bring a saddle. Route: appreciate the tremendous work on routing . . . but it appeared as fair-weather routing. Spring rains turned many (most) miles of hard-packed dirt (with a bit of gravel) into mud, hectares of mud. (And in the water/mud, one cannot see the potholes.) We made a few ride-arounds after bogging down too often in the seasonal mud. We also rode around the silly segment to 'walk the bikes on the sand'. Recommend Eurobike recommend one free and one pay mapping routing service to clients to use with the GPX provided. Lodging: Strongly prefer lodging on the route and with local flavor vs corporate (holiday vs business traveler). Lagos - Hotel Tavoli had ants in the bathroom. Lodging at Albefera, Cerro da Marina was excessively off the route and in a heavily residential area. Luggage transfer: perfect.Show more
- Karin· May 24th, 2025Everything was so well organised we could just relax and ride the bikes. We hired bikes and they were in great condition and gave us no problems- I would definitely recommend this holiday. The accomodation was excellent too.Show more
