  1. Day 1

    Paris

    You'll have the full day to wander through Paris at your own pace. The city opens up for you to browse the classic shopping streets and stop into literary cafés scattered around town, which gives you that real Parisian feel without anyone rushing you through it.

  2. Day 2

    Paris

    Today you can choose your own path through Paris. Either take a guided sightseeing tour to hit the major sights, or hop on a guided biking tour that shows you spots like the Eiffel Tower and Palais de la Concorde from a different angle, with a quiet stretch along the Seine banks built in.

  3. Day 3

    Paris to Lyon

    You'll board the TGV train heading to Lyon, where your suite ship waits for you at the dock. After settling into your cabin, you'll have an overnight stay right there in Lyon.

  4. Day 4

    Lyon

    Lyon gives you colors, smells, and flavors all at once. At the Adventure Center you can pick from guided urban hikes through hidden passageways, a culinary walk tasting local foods, or a cooking class for Lyonnaise dishes. Later in the afternoon, there's an optional guided tour of private and public terraces with views from the Basilica de Fourvière. By evening, your ship heads to Tain l'Hermitage/Tournon.

    Tain-l'Hermitage - Viviers

    You've got twin cities and countryside to explore. Choose a guided rail-bike journey along the Gorges du Doux, a vineyard hike, a tour through the Valrhona Chocolate Factory and Museum, or a sightseeing tour of Tournon's 16th-century castle. There's also a cooking demonstration option while sailing, and an evening nighttime tour through Viviers discovering local legends and stories. You'll dock overnight in Viviers.

    Viviers to Avignon

    The scenery really opens up here with several choices. Take a guided kayak trip through the Gorges de l'Ardèche, hike through the Natural Reserve of Cirque d'Estre, or join a guided underground wine tasting led by an expert. Later in the day your ship cruises through the tall walls of Lock Bollène heading toward Avignon, where you'll dock overnight.

    Avignon to Arles

    Provence today brings together biking, history, and local culture. Pick a guided e-bike ride through the Gard region, visit an authentic farmhouse to see how essential oils are made, or take a guided tour of Avignon with the 14th-century Palace of the Popes and the covered market. In the afternoon, choose between wine tasting at Châteauneuf-du-Pape or a kayak trip near Pont du Gard, or just explore Avignon freely. Evening brings a cruise to Arles.

After that, free time opens up to shop or relax along Boulevard des Lices, and later there's live entertainment onboard. You'll dock overnight in Arles.

Take a guided bike ride spotting over 400 bird species including pink flamingos, tour an oyster farm with tasting, or visit a traditional black bull ranch. You'll dock overnight back in Arles.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.

    ship was excellent, food and drinks were great, adventures perfectly organized,all crew members were extremely friendly and helpful. One person was outstanding and needs to be mentioned: our cruise director GAYLE. She was just outstanding and the best we ever experienced.
