You'll arrive in Lyon with flights landing by 2 pm. After getting to the port, board your suite ship by 5 pm and get settled into your cabin for the first night while docked in Tournus.

Tournus to Trévoux
Walk around Tournus this morning with a local guide who'll show you one of Burgundy's oldest monastic centers. You can choose between a Chardonnay cellar wine tasting or attend a wine lecture while the ship sails to Mâcon. You'll overnight in Trévoux.

Pick either biking through Lyon's architectural district across bridges where the rivers meet, or a guided tour of Fourvirère Hill's churches and the Old Town's medieval alleyways. Later, attend a WWII and French Resistance lecture, then enjoy live entertainment after dinner.

Tournon to Viviers to Avignon
Choose between hiking vineyards for great views or a guided walking tour of medieval Tournon with its 16th-century castle and wine and chocolate tasting at Valrhona. After lunch, the ship sails to Viviers where you'll take a late afternoon guided walk through pale-stone buildings, the Romanesque cathedral, and the Old Town. Live entertainment happens before the evening cruise to Avignon.
