You'll land in Buenos Aires and get settled into your accommodation. The city has a lot to offer, so take some time to wander around at your own pace. Head over to Recoleta if you want to see the French-influenced architecture, or check out La Boca for its colorful buildings and vibrant street life. San Telmo's got that authentic Argentine feel if you're looking for something more local. Just explore whatever catches your interest this first day.

- Day 2
Buenos Aires
A guided walking tour kicks off between 10:00 and 10:30 AM from the San Telmo office. You'll head through Plaza de San Martín, then move through San Telmo, La Boca, and Recoleta neighborhoods, finishing at the famous Recoleta Cemetery. The tour uses the subway and buses so you'll get a feel for how locals get around. Expect to spend about 4 to 5 hours on your feet exploring the city's most recognizable areas.

Iguazu Falls
Travel north to Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site straddling the Argentina and Brazil border. The falls system has 275 separate waterfalls spread across 2.7 kilometers. The main attraction is Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), which measures 150 meters wide and 700 meters long. You can hike various trails on the Argentine side to get close to the falls or take in panoramic views from the Brazilian side. Either way, you'll experience one of the most powerful water displays on Earth.

Iguazu Falls (Brazilian side)
Spend the day exploring Iguazu from the Brazilian side of the national park, which covers 185,000 hectares. You'll board a bus that follows 1,200 meters of walkways above the Iguazu River gorge, giving you wide views of the Argentine falls. You'll see Rivadavia Falls, Tres Mosqueteros, and a distant lower viewpoint of Garganta del Diablo from 200 meters away. Natural rainbows often frame these views beautifully. An elevator near Salto Floriano can take you back up to the bus parking area, or you can walk back the way you came. Return to your hotel by evening.

Iguazu National Park (Argentine side)
Head to the Argentine side of Iguazu National Park, a 67,000-hectare UNESCO site with subtropical jungle thick with giant trees, ferns, colorful butterflies, birds, and wildlife. A train leaves from Cataratas station and takes you to Garganta del Diablo station. From there, a 1.2-kilometer hiking trail leads you right to views of Devil's Throat, where you'll see why this waterfall is considered one of nature's most impressive displays.

Salta
Travel to Salta, a colonial city in northwestern Argentina at the base of the Andes mountains. The architecture here is well-preserved from the colonial period, and the city feels like you've stepped back in time. Take the cable car up San Bernardo hill for views out over the city and the surrounding landscape. From Salta, you can reach several other attractions like the salt flats, the colorful Mountain of Seven Colors near Purmamarca, the wine region of Cafayate, and the Train to the Clouds that climbs to 4,200 meters.

- Day 7
Cafayate - Salta
Hotel pickup happens at 7:00 AM for a full-day tour through Quebrada de las Conchas. You'll drive through Lerma Valley past tobacco fields and villages with German colonial architecture. The gorge itself has striking rock formations shaped by wind and water, with names like Las Dunas, Las Crótales, El Obispo, La Garganta del Diablo, Los Castillos, and El Anfiteatro. Later you'll reach Cafayate, known for its wines, especially Torrontés which you can taste at a local winery. The drive back at sunset transforms the gorge's colors with changing light. You'll return to your hotel around 7:00 PM.

Salta
Take it easy today after yesterday's long drive. Walk through Salta at your own pace and see why locals call it 'la linda' (the beautiful). San Bernardo hill is reachable on foot or by cable car if you prefer. At the top, there's a nice garden with a terrace where you can relax and take in views of the entire city. If you're feeling more active, you can rent bicycles up there and ride down into the valley, which is a fun way to experience the landscape.

Salinas Grandes - Purmamarca - Salta
Hotel pickup from central Salta begins your journey toward Quebrada del Toro. You'll visit Tastil village to see cave paintings and stone structures from an Inca archaeological site that's protected nationally and recognized by UNESCO. Then head to San Antonio de los Cobres, a scenic village with local character. After lunch (on your own), cross Route 40 to reach Salinas Grandes, one of the world's largest salt flats on the Salta-Jujuy border. Spend time photographing the vast white landscape. Coming down through Cuesta de Lipán, you might spot condors. Visit Purmamarca to see the Mountain of Seven Colors. You'll be back in Salta around 8:00 PM.

Purmamarca - Tilcara - Humahuaca - Maimara - Salta
Pickup at 7:00 AM for an exploration of the Calchaquí Valleys. Start in Purmamarca to see the Mountain of Seven Colors, check out the church, and browse artisan markets. Continue through Posta de Hornillos toward Tilcara to view Pucará fortress. At Huacalera, cross the Tropic of Capricorn and see La Pollera de la Colla hill. The Church of Uquía has remarkable Arcabuceros Angels paintings from the Cusqueña school. Reach Humahuaca to see the cathedral and El Indio independence monument. After lunch, explore Maimara's Paleta del Pintor, an area with colorful geological formations. Return through the scenic Gesimspfade path with subtropical vegetation, passing La Ciénaga dike, Las Maderas, and Campo Alegre. Back to hotels around 8:00 PM.

Tango Show
Head to La Ventana for one of Buenos Aires's best traditional tango shows. The venue is set in a restored historic conventillo (tenement) in San Telmo, the birthplace of tango itself. You'll watch 32 artists perform including two orchestras, four dance couples, two singers, Altiplano music, and a boleadoras lasso demonstration while enjoying good food and Argentine wines. You can add a tango lesson or wine tasting if you want to make the evening even more special.
