- Day 1
Varanasi
You'll land at Varanasi airport and get picked up for the drive to your hotel. Once you settle in, spend the afternoon walking through the sacred ghats and checking out the temples and local markets scattered throughout this ancient city. By evening, head down to the River Ganges to watch the Ganga Aarti ceremony, which is quite a sight with all the rituals and prayers happening along the water.

- Day 2
Varanasi and Sarnath
This morning starts with a boat ride on the River Ganges, and then you'll visit a traditional Akhara to see martial artists training. From there, explore the sacred ghats and go inside the Kashi-Vishwanath Temple (also called the Golden Temple) plus the Bharat Mata Mandir. In the afternoon, head to Sarnath to see the Dhamekha Stupa, the Archaeological Museum, and the Chaukhandi Stupa. After that drive back to Varanasi and catch the evening Ganga Aarti ceremony.

Varanasi to Bodh Gaya
After breakfast you'll drive to Bodh Gaya, the major Buddhist pilgrimage site where Buddha reached enlightenment. Check into your hotel and then visit the Mahabodhi Temple, which is quite impressive architecturally. You'll also see the holy Bodhi Tree, walk around Sujata Village, visit the Niranajana River, and stop by various monasteries throughout the day to get a feel for the different Buddhist traditions.

After breakfast you'll travel to Gaya to visit the sacred Vishnupad Temple, an important Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Vishnu. The temple is thought to have the footprints of Lord Vishnu inside. Once you're done exploring, you'll make the drive back to Varanasi for your last night there.
