Itinerary
- Day 1
Visegrad
Start by heading to the Visegrad Bridge, a UNESCO site that's been standing for centuries and offers great views of the surrounding area. From there, you'll check out Visegrad Kamengrad, another historic spot in the region. After exploring both locations, you'll settle into Zlatibor for the night, a mountain town that sits at about 3,600 feet elevation.

Zlatibor
This morning you'll visit Stopica cave, which has some interesting rock formations and underground passages to walk through. Later, head to Sirogojno ethno village to see traditional architecture and local crafts. After lunch in the area, you'll see Gostilje waterfall and then try the ZipLine Ljubis attraction if you're up for it. Back to Zlatibor again for another night.

Zlatibor to Novi Pazar
Travel inland toward the Uvac Molitva viewpoint, a scenic overlook in a national park area. From there, you'll visit Sopocani monastery and Durdevi Stupovi monastery, both UNESCO-listed sites with religious and historical significance. These monasteries show Serbian medieval architecture pretty well. By evening you'll reach Novi Pazar and check into your accommodation there.

Novi Pazar to Kraljevo
Start the day at Studenica monastery, another UNESCO site and one of the most important ones in Serbia. Next, head to Maglic fortress to walk around the ruins and take in the views. Later you'll stop by Zica monastery before traveling to Kraljevo, where you'll stay for the night.

Kraljevo to Pozarevac
Head to Topola in the morning and visit Holy Martyr George church, which has distinctive architecture and historical importance. After that, check out Topola King winery where you can see how they produce wine in the region. Then travel south to Pozarevac for your overnight stay.

Pozarevac
Explore Golubac fortress, which sits on the Danube and has medieval walls you can walk through. During the afternoon, visit Tumane monastery, then head to Ram fortress to see another historic defensive structure. You'll stay another night in Pozarevac, so it's a shorter travel day.

Pozarevac to Belgrade
Visit Viminacium archaeological park, where you can see Roman ruins and learn about the area's ancient history. Later, head to Smederevo fortress along the Danube, which has well-preserved walls and towers. From there, travel to Belgrade and settle into your accommodation in the capital.

Belgrade
Spend time in Belgrade's historical center, walking through old neighborhoods and checking out the architecture. You'll visit Saint Sava monastery, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. Then head to Belgrade fortress, which overlooks the Danube and offers views across the city. Another night in Belgrade.

Belgrade to Novi Sad
Travel north to Novi Sad and explore its historical center, which has a different feel from Belgrade with Austro-Hungarian influence in the buildings. You'll see both Orthodox and Catholic churches scattered throughout the city. Later, head to Petrovaradin fortress across the river for great views back toward town. Stay overnight in Novi Sad.

Sremska Mitrovica to Belgrade
