Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades Gorge
Your driver picks you up from your hotel in Marrakech and heads toward the High Atlas Mountains, driving through the Tizi 'n' Tichka pass. You'll pass through several Berber villages along the way, then arrive at Ait ben Haddou Kasbah, which is Morocco's largest kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After grabbing lunch there, you'll continue on to Ouarzazate (called the 'Hollywood of Africa' because of all the film production) and then drive along the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs. The route takes you through Kalaat Mgouna, known as the rose capital, before finishing the day at Dades Gorge where you'll stay overnight.

- Day 2
Dades Gorge to Merzouga
After breakfast, you'll drive through the Dades Valley to see the rock formations and stop at scenic overlooks in the gorges. Next you head to Todra Valley where you can see old mud Berber villages and palm groves spread across the landscape. At Todra Gorge itself, you'll walk under high red cliffs that reach up to 300m at their narrowest sections. Then it's onward to Erfoud and Rissani with lunch somewhere along the drive, and by late afternoon you'll reach the Sahara Desert near Merzouga. You'll get a traditional mint tea welcome when you arrive, and you're staying in a riad for the night.

- Day 3
Merzouga Desert Exploration
Start the morning by visiting a village of people originally from Sudan to see their music and lifestyle. From there, you'll drive to the Miffis Mines to check out how they operate, and then spend time exploring the dunes. In the desert with Berber Bedouins, you'll sit down for tea and take in the surroundings. Local guides will show you how to mount and dismount a camel safely, and then you're off into Erg-Chebbi, the mysterious sand-sea. You'll spend the night in a Berber tent under the stars.

Desert Sunrise to Ouarzazate
Get up early to catch the sunrise over the sand dunes, which are the highest in Morocco. The light hits them differently in the morning and creates different shadows and colors across the sand. Head back to your desert hotel for breakfast, then drive toward Ouarzazate passing through a Berber town. You'll arrive late in the afternoon and stay at a riad or hotel there.

Ouarzazate to Marrakech
Before returning to Marrakech, take time to see the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate, which is an architectural wonder worth the stop. Then continue back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, arriving late in the afternoon. This completes your 5-day tour from the desert back to where you started.
