  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Pokhara

You'll start early from Kathmandu and spend the next 7 hours or more on a bus heading to Pokhara. The 200 km route winds through hilly settlements, and the road conditions mean you should expect some delays and potential traffic along the way. Despite the long ride, you'll see plenty of nature and farmland passing by your window.

An early flight gets you from Pokhara to Jomsom, where you can browse for souvenirs and handicrafts before starting your trek. From there you'll head to Kagbeni, passing a monastery and a series of Buddhist Chortens along the route. Once you arrive in Kagbeni, you'll walk through classic alleys and see the Tibetan-inspired culture that shapes the village.

Inside the temple you'll find 108 stone taps (fed by underground water mixed with natural gas), an eternal flame, and a large golden statue of Lord Vishnu. Hindus consider this place sacred as the site of Mukti (Liberation) after death.
