This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a tour company. We had great hopes as we've travelled with Costco travel very successfully in the past. In the Fall of 2020 we booked a Spain, Portugal trip for September 2021 and paid for it in full. In the first week of August 2021 we had not yet heard of any follow up info and called thrm to be told they had cancelled the trip due to lack of participation. We asked for a refund and they said we would have it within a few weeks. A month went by, still no refund. We called, they said it could take six weeks. Its now been six weeks, we have heard nothing from them, we have received no money from them (we paid over $10,000.00 in the fall of 2020!!!). We are about to contact our lawyer. Avoid these people!

We regret to read about your travel experience, and that, like so many others, your trip was not able to go ahead in 2021. On top of this, we do appreciate the frustration that may have been felt as you were awaiting reimbursement. With the above in... Show more

We joined the Luxury Gold Spain and Portugal in Style tour in September. I have mixed feelings on the tour. The hotels on this trip are very good location and luxury-wise. The dinners provided by Insight were only average or slightly better than average. The sights visited and the local guides used by Insight are both excellent. All these pluses were negated by a big turnoff. We arrived in Barcelona around 9:15 am. Followed the directions provided by Insight regarding where to wait. Even checked with the Tourist Info at the airport to confirm the general area. Waited till 12:30 and finally called the local shuttle company when we were told that the driver left at 11:00 and we were on our own. By the time we got to our hotel, we missed our private walking tour. We did bring up the problem with the Tour Director and after consultation with his boss, he did reimburse the member in our group who paid the taxifare. However, no apologies for the screw up nor precious time wasted in the airport. It left a huge bad taste in our mouth for sure.
