Asked on December 28th, 2024I am very interested in the volcano climbing activity and would like to plan it over three days. I will be traveling with my husband and our six-year-old daughter, and I would like to confirm if she would be allowed to participate.
- GTM Tour Guide and Travel ServicesOperator•Written December 2024
We do not have any inconvenience with the child's trip, especially if he/she already has experience in climbing, and even more knowing that he/she is going with the parents. Because of the type of excursion there is no special price for children (you pay as an adult).

Asked on August 18th, 2024do people experience altitude sickness on this tour? during this time is it hot? whats the recommend clothing? are there porters? or do i have to carry everything during the hike? do i get to leave my luggage some where while i do the hike?
- GTM Tour Guide and Travel ServicesOperator•Written August 2024
According to the questions asked: 1. In the time we have been doing this tour, we have not had any problems with any passengers regarding the altitude. 2. We recommend bringing gloves, a thick jacket for the cold, a sweater underneath, an extra T-shirt in case you sweat while climbing, 6 liters of water, and sweets. 3. At the place of arrival in the vehicle, some porters can help you to take your things up and down (this payment is direct with them). 4. Luggage can be left at your hotel in Antigua Guatemala and picked up before your departure back to Guatemala City.

Asked on August 11th, 2024Which tour date would most accommodate me if I got to Guatemala City on Monday afternoon and had to fly out on Thursday afternoon
- GTM Tour Guide and Travel ServicesOperator•Written August 2024
See your dates, I do recommend traveling from Guatemala City airport on Monday on arrival to Antigua, staying overnight there, and Tuesday departure to Acatenango. Wednesday back from Acatenango to Antigua and then to Guatemala City and the next day, ready to depart from your hotel to the airport. If you are interested, I can provide accommodation in Guatemala City.
