Day 1
Colonia del Sacramento
Your driver meets you at the ferry terminal in Colonia del Sacramento and takes you to a riverside hotel. Once you're settled and have had time to take in the views, a guide leads you through the historic quarter on foot, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colonial architecture and winding streets to explore.

Day 2
Colonia del Sacramento to Montevideo
After your driver picks you up, you'll head east toward Montevideo, which takes about 2.5 hours. Once at your hotel, a guided tour starts from Puerto Market and includes a local asado lunch. The afternoon has you walking through Ciudad Vieja and checking out Plaza Independencia, Salvo Palace, and Solis Theater, then moving on to Castillo Pittamiglio and Playa Pocitos before heading back.

Montevideo to Punta del Este
After breakfast, you'll drive roughly 2 hours to Altos de la Ballena near Punta Ballena for wine tasting among the vineyards, plus tastings of cheese, cured hams, and snacks. In the afternoon, Casapueblo comes next with its distinctive white architecture and views as the sun sets, then you continue to Punta del Este. If you're interested, La Mano is available to visit on your own time.

The lighthouse tour teaches you about the town's past, and you get to wander around and meet some residents. Later there's free time to relax on the beach before your transfer back to Punta del Este in the afternoon.

I loved my eight day El Salvador Adventure. We were 2 women and felt very safe. My tour guide Miguel was professional, knowledgeable, extremely helpful and accommodating. The hotels were each very different … former coffee plantation, luxury hotel, and beach getaway. The included breakfasts were all. delicious. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants an overview of this beautiful and diverse country.

For tours departing after January 6th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Agate Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 65 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
