Itinerary
- Day 1
Colombo to Habarana
After landing at Colombo Airport, you'll be transferred to Habarana. Depending on when you arrive, there's a chance to check out the Negombo Fish Market and see how the local fish trade operates. From there, you'll head to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to watch and interact with the elephants. An elephant riding experience gives you a closer look at these animals, and then you'll finish with an Ayurvedic herbal spa treatment to recover from your travels.

Polonnaruwa - Pasikuda
You'll start early with a climb up Sigiriya Rock or Pidurangala Rock to take in the ancient history and views from up top. After breakfast back at your hotel, you'll trek through Hiriwadunna village to see how people live among the rural and lush areas around there. The afternoon brings you to Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can walk through ancient ruins, stupas, and statues. By late afternoon, you'll travel to Pasikuda, a quiet beach town where you'll spend the night.

Pasikuda to Maduru Oya
You'll travel to Maduru Oya National Park, which isn't as crowded as other parks and has plenty of wildlife and scenery to see. In the afternoon, you'll go on a safari where you can spot elephants, deer, and different bird species while moving through the green landscape and open areas. It's a solid way to get a close look at the variety of wildlife that Sri Lanka has to offer.

Later in the afternoon, you'll settle in at your hotel in Hanguranketha, which has nice views of the golden landscape around it, giving you a chance to relax and think back on what you've seen.

You'll head to the Knuckles Forest Reserve, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with great landscapes and lots of different plants and animals. The Knuckles Range is really a great spot if you're into nature and outdoor activities.

Today you'll take a day trip through the Knuckles Range. You'll stop at Pitawala Pathana, a scenic grassland with its own unique plant and animal life. Then you'll continue on to Riverton Point and Mini World's End, where you get rewarded with views looking out over the valleys and forests below. The whole day focuses on seeing all the different and beautiful landscapes within the Knuckles Forest Reserve.

Knuckles to Nuwara Eliya
You're heading to Nuwara Eliya, sometimes called Little England because of its colonial buildings and cooler temperature. Start at the Kandy Tooth Relics Temple, an important Buddhist shrine, and grab views from Kandy View Point. Then you'll walk through a wood carving workshop to see how local craftspeople work, stroll the Royal Botanical Garden to see its huge plant collection, stop at a gemstone factory to learn about the gem trade, check out the busy Kandy Downtown Market, and wrap up at Ramboda Waterfalls before heading back.

Haputale
You'll explore Horton Plains National Park, which is known for its cloud forests and the different plants and animals that live there. Baker's Falls is a beautiful waterfall you'll visit inside the park. In the afternoon, you'll take a scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Haputale, and this train route is considered one of the best in the world, with great views of tea plantations, mountains, and valleys the whole way.

Later, you can take a cool dip at Upper Diyaluma Falls, which is a beautiful place to relax and spend time in nature.

Haputale to South Beach (Departure)
On your last day, you'll check out the ancient Buduruwagala Temple with its impressive rock carvings. If you want, there's an option to visit Udawalawe National Park, which has a large elephant population and other wildlife. You'll also stop by the Elephant Transit Home to see where orphaned elephants are looked after and trained before going back into the wild. After all this, you'll head to a south beach destination and then depart.
